I have frequented the Madewell in Oakbrook since its opening and have purchased MANY items over the years. It is one of my favorite stores. My experience today, however, has made me feel otherwise. As I was walking around the store, one of the employees was clearly "eyeing" and following me, and REPEATEDLY kept coming up to me after I said I did not need any help and was just browsing. I picked up an item, and he immediately asked to put it on the front counter before I could decide if I wanted it. It made me feel as though he were watching me like I was a criminal about to steal something - it made me uncomfortable. I understand that employees must be watchful, but this was, in my opinion, extremely inappropriate. I decided to leave the store without purchasing anything. I did not catch the employee's name, so I will describe his appearance - he was a young, African American gentleman with glasses. Please allow your customers to shop without making them feel as though you are watching them like they're a criminal.

They greeted you the moment you entered, they asked you if you needed any helps or not, and so on. I like their clothes, the styles and the qualities. My favorite thing from this store is their jeans. I have to say that it’s the best jeans I have so far. So soft and it fits you like a glove. If you are looking for a pair of jeans, give Madewell a try. You won’t be disappointed.
