- EGElizabeth GalvinJun 28, 20261.0While Amazon is eating JCPenny’s Lunch, penny’s won’t accept items with a tag (in perfect condition) for return without the receipt. I haven’t shopped at any store that wouldn’t at least take an item for in-store credit if you have the card it was charged to. I see why the parking lot is empty most of the time. If penny’s keeps this up I don’t see them being around the Quad Cities much longer. It’s a shame because I did like most of the items I purchased, but I can get the same thing online elsewhere that will accept my returns for in store credit at a minimum. The only positive part of my experience was that the employee helping me out was kind.

First the three gals all exchanged a look when I needed a bigger size FOR MY WEDDING because it didn't fit my fiance. Why do I get to be laughed at? She did NOT explain the refund process. She refunded my item without telling me I will have to pay for the new item. I felt absolutely disrespected by the employees so I, in turn, was not respectful and got upset when it wasn't explained to me that I have to pay for an even exchange on an item. If Chris doesn't want to work at JC Penny's and be bothered by customer service, she certainly can find a new job. Explain the process. If you want to talk crap about your customers, wait until your transaction has even had the chance to begin. Will not return. 0 stars was not an option.
