  Fair comic selection. They need a box for the high end comics. Theres room in there for one. Other than that. Great comic selections. Great people.

  I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ECONOMY NOW I walked into Half Price Books in Downers Grove carrying 63 BOOKS. Sixty-three. I didn’t bring a box of books. I apparently brought an entire branch of the Library of Congress. I spent my time boxing them up, hauling them around, loading them into my car, unloading them, carrying them into the store, and handing over enough literature to educate an entire small village. And after all of that… $1.51. ONE DOLLAR AND FIFTY-ONE CENTS. At this point, I’m pretty sure the books were worth more as structural support for the box they were sitting in. To be fair, Sheldon was friendly and did his job. No complaints about Sheldon whatsoever. But me? I should have read the reviews first. Like I read all 63 of those books. Because the warning signs were apparently there, sitting right on the internet, waiting for me to discover them. Instead, I spent who knows how long boxing up 63 books, lugging them over, waiting for them to be evaluated, and then walking out of the store with enough money to maybe buy a single gumball if the gumball machine is feeling charitable. $1.51. I have spent more money accidentally finding a quarter under my couch. I have tipped more than $1.51 for someone bringing me a glass of water. At this point, I feel like I should have just put the 63 books on the sidewalk with a sign that said: “FREE BOOKS — PLEASE TAKE THESE SO I CAN SAVE MYSELF AN AFTERNOON.” The real irony is that Half Price Books apparently did exactly what the name suggests. They took half the price of books that were already worth almost nothing. Lesson learned: READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BOX UP 63 BOOKS. I read 63 books that day. Unfortunately, I apparently skipped the most important one: “What Happens When You Bring 63 Books to Half Price Books.” Would I do it again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it? Only if you desperately need $1.51 and an excellent upper-body workout. Sheldon, you're cool. My back, however, would like to speak to management.
