  Its the last few weeks before their demise. I did get a kitchen aid mixer (regular $599) for less than $265. Not bad but its too bad the6 are leaving.

  The employees in store are great, especially manager Daisy, but the credit department are awful. Went in there today to buy a $55 pair of shoes and as they were ringing me up, they told me if I wanted to get a credit card I could get $35 off my purchase. My credit is very good so of course I agreed to do it. Had to fill out a zillion questions only to be told they needed “more information” after I was done. Daisy was called in to call the credit department. They told her my credit was frozen and to lift the freeze. OK, fine, that’s on me. So I went out to my car And it took me about 20 minutes to gather all the passwords for the three credit agencies and get them all lifted. Went back into the store, and Daisy was waiting for me. She called the credit dept again And there was a guy who sounded confused on the line, but insisted on talking to me on her phone. He asked me all the same questions that were already filled out in my application. Nothing like having to recite your Social Security number out loud over and over so everyone can hear it. After all that he said well, I’m gonna have to turn you over to special services and see what they say. I said come on man. I’ve been waiting for almost an hour here. This is ridiculous. He sent me over to Bella, who proceeded to tell me that, yes, two of the three credit services were now unfrozen, but the JCPenney system needs 48 hours to get a lift from TransUnion even though I authorized the lift immediately. Why didn’t they tell me that on the phone earlier that it wasn’t gonna be possible? Even the employees in the store said that? I asked to speak to her supervisor and she told me he could not come to the phone that she would take care of it. I said to her as long as two of them show my exact same credit score. Why can’t you just go with that? She came back and said that Sam, the supervisor without a last name available, Said they needed all three agencies reports so I would have to wait at least 48 hours to find out the decision. He would not get on the phone to talk to me even though I asked her several times. I told her I’m a lifelong customer there, just bought a gift certificate For someone there yesterday and I was canceling my order and I wanted her to cancel My application that I no longer will shop there. She said OK, as soon as I got back out in the car, I found out that they had put a hard inquiry on me on the other two agencies. If they knew they needed all three agencies, why didn’t they tell me that and why did they run my credit with the other two first? So now I didn’t get the shoes, I didn’t get the $35 off, I didn’t get the credit card and they put two hits on my credit. Daisy and the other sales people were great there, but the people on the phone phones? Simply awful. I’m done shopping at JCPenney‘s. Lifetime ban from me.
