  I had a very disturbing experience at Family Dollar that left me feeling humiliated, discriminated against, and falsely accused. I entered the store simply to shop. I grabbed most of my items, sat them on the counter, and quickly went to grab a pain reliever. Immediately after I was treated as if I was doing something wrong. The staff allowed me to shop, and when I was coming to the end of my transaction, I was told to get out because I’ve stolen before. I immediately stayed calm and asked when and told the manager I would leave the store. But generally, I’m confused because I’ve never stolen before. I asked to see footage, the manager claimed to have, but she told me to exit the store. What made the situation worse was being falsely accused without any proof or justification. Instead of being approached respectfully, I was made to feel like a criminal in front of other customers, which was extremely embarrassing and degrading. I soon asked for her name which she said was Darlene and the corporate number, which she refused to give to me, calling me derogatory slurs. No customer should ever have to endure being judged based on assumptions rather than facts. I believe I was unfairly targeted and discriminated against, and the way this store handled the situation was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable. Family Dollar should train their employees on how to properly treat all customers with dignity and stop allowing false accusations and profiling to take place. This was by far one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had, and I will not be returning.
