  I ordered some items online and curbside pick up. I'm having trouble walking around right now because of surgery, but Bass pro Shop offered me to order online and they brought it out to me. It couldn't have been easier.

  An employee by the name Ava went above and beyond to locate a specific trail cam for me it happened to be the last one they had in stock so she personally went to make sure that she could find it before I drove all the way down from Wisconsin to pick it up. Keep up the great work and the excellent customer service Ava!!! I will definitely be back to shop there.

  For some reason one of the shop assistants told me I could not take pictures, but I'm still watching tons of pictures here… some folks are really friendly, some others are not at all. Still, it's a very well setup place, although I would wish they sell souvenirs too.

  They sold me a broken crossbow and refuse to accept a return. I bought it yesterday with a broken crank. Today, I wanted to return or repair it. They told me to call the factory; I have never even used the crossbow.

  I went to Bass Pro Shops in Bolingbrook on Saturday to purchase ammunition. The employee who assisted me, Jeff, gave me the wrong ammunition. I didn’t realize the mistake until the next day, when I was already on my way to the range. As soon as I realized what happened, I called the store, explained the situation, and specifically asked if I could return to exchange it. I was told I could. I wasn’t able to make it back that day, so I came in Monday expecting this to be a simple customer-service issue. Instead, I waited over an hour for someone to assist me. I was told the ammunition manager, Cory, was in a meeting. I decided to wait because I wanted to speak directly with him and explain what had happened. When Renee came over, she contacted Cory and then began relaying his responses to me. Rather than coming out and speaking with me himself, Cory communicated through Renee while I stood there waiting. After already waiting more than an hour specifically to speak with management, I found that incredibly frustrating and disrespectful. Then came the proposed solution: “Try selling it on Marketplace. We won’t take it.” I was honestly shocked. An employee gives me the wrong ammunition, I call the store and am told I can return it, I come back to resolve the mistake, wait over an hour, and the answer from management is essentially “Not our problem. Try selling it yourself.” And this isn’t just an ordinary item that can casually be sold online. Ammunition is a regulated product in Illinois, with specific legal requirements surrounding its transfer. Telling a customer to simply sell ammunition on Marketplace is an especially irresponsible suggestion given those requirements. What made the experience even worse was the way I was spoken to. I was questioned about whether I even knew what I was buying and treated in an extremely condescending manner. As a woman, I found that particularly insulting. I knew exactly what I was purchasing. The problem was that I was given the wrong product. I understand that Bass Pro may have policies regarding ammunition returns. I’m not asking them to violate their policies. I’m asking them to take responsibility for an employee error and provide reasonable customer service when that mistake happens. Instead, I waited over an hour, couldn’t get the manager to speak with me directly, and was told to figure out the problem myself. After leaving, I called again to escalate the situation and requested the employees’ ID numbers so I could properly follow up. I was refused that information as well. A simple mistake could have been handled professionally and resolved in minutes. Instead, poor communication, dismissive management, and a complete lack of accountability turned it into an incredibly frustrating experience.
