Interesting place.
I swore I'd never buy from.them again, yet they were the only source for a popular Minn Kota trolling motor, so i had no other option, if I wanted to get one this year. It had to be delivered from Fargo, ND. It arrived in a reasonable time frame. The box had been opened previously and "Scheels" labeled tape was used to close the box up again. So, it qualified as a non tampered with item during transit to me. SCHEELS tape was all in tact. The box did have damage, but it wasnt significant enough for anytthing to fall out of the box. There were no instructions inside the box and who nows what else.
No user manual and no installation instructions. This unit appears to have been sold before and opened. That's usually not a problem. This time it is. No instructions, how many missing parts?
It seems to be missing a cable too. 😕 I dont get it. Now the unit is installed and not functioning as intended. No instructions, no quick reference cards for all the electronic options. No installation instructions and it was not a straight forward install, it gets way weird and I had to be disassembled the base, more than what I saw on the youtube video. Maybe some installation instructions would have helped? Videos to the rescue. But that doesnt help when on a lake and I need the instructions. I tried to contact Scheels. Apparently I'm a ghost, because they didnt respond with any help with the product they sold me as a new item. Hm. ON A POSITIVE NOTE: I NOW HAVE 2 BOAT ANCHORS ON THE BOW OF MY BOAT. One drops a heavy weight to keep the boat in place, the other just looks pretty and does nothing. Guess how many times I'll be going to buy anything from Scheels again? So sad, but at least my boat is 110 pounds heavier now.🍄🟫

The place is fine if you're going to buy a shirt or something basic. I got the runaround when I had a warranty issue come up with a bicycle that I bought.
Was told there was going to be a 2 week wait just confirm if they would honor the warranty on a 1 month old bike. Then if they honored the warranty it would be 4-8 weeks for parts and labor.
I even suggested that I would buy a replacement wheel out of pocket just so I could have my bike for peak summer months. They said there were no wheels available.
The first bike shop I called said they had the exact wheel in stock.
Ended up taking my bike to that shop and was back riding the next day.
If Scheels honored the warranty it would've been nearly 2 months before I had my bike back and they weren't certain they were going to honor the warranty.

This Dude named JACK, he will keep me coming BACK.
On a serious note I spent a few bucks over the phone, Jack was super easy going, had knowledge of my questions, and was super friendly. We did the order and that should have been that, but Jack took the time to call me 4 hours after the order to put me at ease, cause I really need what I bought. Jack you are a stand up dude, and my guess a great employee. Keep up the good work Jack. I know a lot of folks in Bass fishing and will be sending them to scheels in the future for stuff. I hope Jack get employee of the month or a raise. Great service today by you Jack, appreciate it.

David up in the gun area, made us feel very judged and was rude when picking up our shotgun. My husband told him he was there to pick up his gun, he asked if it was purchased online and told him no we purchased it yesterday but ran out of time while we were waiting on the background check. He gave my husband this serious judgmental look and spoke rudely and went to go check on it. My husband and I have never felt so judged when purchasing a gun before. I hope someone can teach him to not be so judgemental at a young couple picking up an already purchased gun. Very glad one of the other associates was the one to walk us out with our gun. Everyone else that was there was super nice except for him.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BICYCLE HERE FOR SERVICE! I brought my bicycle here for a tune and i cannot confidently say they actually did anything other than the tires I bought from them. I asked for a complete tune. Everything that required a torque spec to be torque down, lubed, adjusted, all of it. I told them i was new to mountain biking and i just bought the bike off market place and to treat me as if i need to know everything and to give me any info I would need to take great care of my bike. Not only did they not torque anything down, they never even tried. I’ve been there 4 times. One time for everything to be done, the second time because my crankshaft assembly was loose, they told me it was a broken extractor bolt that should have been checked the first time to tell me it was broke or loose, but when i brought it back, some fool took it and started wrenching on it like he was being timed for speed, which you never do with torqued parts, so did they break it? I’ll never know, after that I put 17 miles on it and found my back brake rotor almost fell off. It had one remaining bolt that was somewhat tight and the rest were missing. The brake rotors recommend checking torque every six months to a year, it lasted 17 miles. So i bright it back for the third time to have them tighten them. I asked for a refund on the tune and nothing else. They tried to rectify the issue by promising a call back from the expert, the manager and he would make me feel better about going through the bike again. They said he’d call me on Thursday last week. The following Wednesday I went back for a fourth time to get the refund and that was the smoothest process of all. If you want your time and money to not be wasted and possibly even your health with them not making sure my brakes were good, stay far far away from the bicycle service department. Go to Kore north. They are locally owned and they depend on offering great service or they go out of business. This is one of those rare instances where shopping local will save you tons of time, money and and your health. The people at the bike department were nice people, but being nice doesn’t actually do the work i paid for.
