I have supported The Attic for decades. Even worked at the shelter for several years. I was sad and disappointed to find they don't take returns, even for a store credit, which is all I was asking. The scenario went like this: "all sales final," and then turned and walked away. Not even look you in the eye. I am certain this has not always been the case, as I have been supporting the Advocates operation since the beginning. Now I am stuck with sheets that don't fit my bed, fireplace tools too big for the space; I had to eat it for the money I spent, and I have no recourse [except this review]. The sheets are all wrapped, sized [supposedly accurate] and taped and strict instructions not to open them. In addition, the staff was rude about it---every single one of them!

USED TO BE GREAT! But Sadly, this thrift store I think forgets that the items they resell were donated to them and they try to resell them for so much… They need to realize that the majority of their customer base is the working class in the local area! You’re trying to sell artwork for $600? Furniture for hundreds of dollars and you won’t even let people try on clothing or return it if it doesn’t fit? I think better systems need to be in place starting with a better pricing system. Just because you were donated something super expensive doesn’t mean The price you sell it for needs to be….. I know very much the advocate is not hurting for financials….. But the working class locals in this town are! Thank you, and please consider adjusting practices.
