- RRRosoJun 18, 20263.0I enjoy supporting thrift stores, but I was surprised by the pricing at Deseret Industries. Many of the items I saw were priced similarly to, or even higher than, some brand-new products available at regular retail stores. One of the main reasons people shop second-hand is to find affordable bargains, and I felt that value was missing on many items during my visit. The store was clean and organized, and the staff were friendly, but the pricing made it difficult to justify purchasing used items when comparable new products could be found elsewhere for the same price. I hope pricing becomes more competitive so shoppers can feel they are getting a better value while supporting a good cause.
