  Outstanding selection of outdoor sporting goods, especially bow and arrow, firearms, and fishing gear. Lots of men's, women's and kids outdoor clothing. They also have boats, shoes and candy! A fun place to visit, even if you only browse.

  Bass Pro Shops is my favorite store in the US, so every time I visit the country, the first thing I do is check if there’s one along my route. We happened to be passing through Iowa, and I couldn’t resist stopping at the Altoona location. One of my friends had never been to a Bass Pro before, so it was the perfect excuse. This store is absolutely massive. It has the classic aquarium you’d expect, but the wildlife displays throughout the store were the real highlight for me. They make the whole place feel like a museum as much as a retail store. Out of all the Bass Pro Shops I’ve visited, this one is my favorite so far. A special shoutout to the staff as well. Every single employee we interacted with was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always offering to help or simply greeting us as we walked around. That level of customer service made an already great experience even better. If you’re anywhere near Altoona, this Bass Pro Shops is absolutely worth a visit—even if you’re not planning to buy anything.

  From beginning to end my worst experience at Bass Pro. Started out ordering arrows online purchase two boxes for same-day pick up. I never get an email verifying my order is ready for pick up so I called the store. They confirmed it was ready. I drive two hours to get there only to find out there is only one box. The only good thing is I was only charged for one I asked about the second box they said they no longer had them. Back to the aero section and I find them immediately so I grabbed the second box go to the archery center asked to get my arrows cut carbon to carbon. The tech had no idea what I was talking about. I explained to him what I wanted, even measured the length and told him that is correct after four attempts only to get home to find that they’re all different sizes. Also, if I was a dishonest person, I could’ve walked out only paying for one box as customer service gave me no receipts or anything for confirmation of my purchase. Definitely need to do better.
