I am writing to you today to formally report a deeply upsetting experience I had at your Citi Trends location on Greenbriar Parkway. As a loyal and frequent shopper, I was appalled by the blatant discrimination, homophobic undertones, and lack of professionalism displayed by Store Manager Ms. Shirley and Sales Associate Alisha.
This recent incident is part of a pattern of inappropriate behavior. On a previous visit, Ms. Shirley made highly distasteful and intrusive remarks toward me and my partner. She asked us directly if we were "together" and proceeded to ask "who was the man and who was the woman" in the relationship. We were left utterly confused, judged, and felt sexually harassed by these comments, which have no place in a professional retail environment.
Regarding my most recent visit on April 31st and May 1st, I purchased two women’s rhinestone crop tops. During a subsequent visit, I noticed that similar crop tops in different colors were now attached to matching shorts as sets. On my previous visits, these rhinestone shorts were not attached to the tops and lacked price tags. When I returned, the shorts finally had price tags, but the matching tops were no longer available on the floor.
When I attempted to ask for assistance, the following occurred:
* **Discriminatory Behavior:** Upon getting Alisha’s attention, she looked at a coworker, laughed, and mockingly asked, "He needs help with women's crop tops?" This was done in front of other customers, who began to giggle, leaving me feeling belittled and publicly embarrassed.
* **Unprofessional Management:** When the matter reached the register, Ms. Shirley was brought into the conversation via phone. Rather than addressing the associate's behavior, she also giggled at the fact that I was purchasing a crop top.
* **Refusal to Assist:** I explained that these items had previously been together without tags and noted that "sets" in the men’s section are sold together. Both Alisha and Ms. Shirley repeatedly told me "it’s sold separately" or "there’s nothing we can do," making no effort to investigate if there had been a merchandising mistake.
I have taken photographs of the new price tags on the rhinestone shorts which clearly show the inconsistency in how these items were handled.
As a customer who frequently supports Citi Trends, I expect to be treated with basic dignity regardless of which section of the store I am shopping in. The homophobic remarks, the mockery, and the targeted harassment regarding my personal relationship are inexcusable.
To resolve this matter, I am requesting that the store honor the shorts that were meant to accompany my original rhinestone crop top purchases. Furthermore, I expect a serious review of the conduct of Ms. Shirley and Alisha to ensure no other customer is subjected to this type of prejudice.
I look forward to your prompt response regarding this matter.

Respectful, friendly, and very quick cashiers. I am a 75 year disabled individual, when I first got to the line to pay it was extremely long. I was impressed with the speed that the line moved. Thank you for your quick service.

Came in after a long flight to Atlanta because the suitcases caught my eye in the window.
I ended up purchasing an entire outfit for my body building competition and what an amazing purchase.
Based on my experience and some of the comments I overheard from some a staff worker, I will say this.
Never judge someone based on how they look or dress because you never know who will stop in. Sometimes people dress really down to see how people are treated that might not match the attire or look surrounding them.
Thanks again,
The Traveling Truck show
