- JHJanice Hill3 days ago1.0We came in to buy a hand gun. We were at the counter 5 min. or so two male employees older men just looked at us never came over to help us or said a word to us??? How do you ever sell anything??? All the female employees were very helpful in other areas of the store. We will buy our guns elsewhere.Actually we will buy everything we need elsewhere.

Three people asked me and I saw a few more trying to approach me but I ran. There is one pitch at the door, one in the back and then roaming pitches throughout the store. Management should realize this is pushing customers away.
- IMIdris Mensa-BonsuAug 28, 20261.0Overall this is a great store. Majority of the staff is friendly and professional. I’ve been going to this cabelas over the past 6 years. Never once had an issue. Today, I tried on some gear in a fitting room. Realized it wasn’t a good fit and returned it. Afterwards, a gentleman who was nowhere near the fitting room, approached me and asked me about the whereabouts of a specific hat. I returned the hat which was waiting on the return table. He asked me the whereabouts of a shirt that a fallen out price tag had landed on the floor. I pointed towards the shirt on the return table with the hat. He assumed I was stealing. Looked at me like a criminal. There was a patron there that used the fitting room right before me that was not asked this question. The only difference between me and this patron was that I was black and the previous was white. . The only reason I will patronize this business is both because of their good history, and because of the manager who immediately heard my concerns and addressed them and advised me to leave a review. The outdoors belongs to everyone. That is my core belief. And no one should walk into an outfitters such as cabelas and worry about being discriminated against because of their skin color.
