Plato's Closet buys and sells gently used clothing, shoes, sneakers, accessories and athletic wear for teens and young adults in Sarasota. Sell styles you no longer wear for cash on the spot, or shop thrifted, secondhand, and resale fashion, including trendy, brand-name styles for less. With 500+ independently owned and operated locations across the U.S. and Canada, fresh inventory arriving daily, Plato's Closet makes thrifting easy, affordable, and more sustainable.
They shouldn’t have a male sorting through woman’s fashion items and deciding what to buy.. had MULTIPLE items with tags on them things I bought for $100+ returned that matched what they were “taking in”. Doesn’t make sense…….. the things on their racks have stains on them and are genuinely not cute. Plato’s has gone down hill!!!!!!!!!

Seller beware if you’re planning to sell here.
I’ve sold to Plato’s Closet many times, so I completely understand that they can only accept a certain amount of inventory each day and that offers may not always be what I’m hoping for. That’s just part of the process.
Today I brought in three bags of clothing. They selected a few items, but I decided not to sell three of them after being offered around $25 for a brand-new Burberry men’s shirt and two pairs of Rag & Bone jeans. No hard feelings, that’s my choice as the seller.
What was disappointing was the interaction afterward. As soon as I declined those items, the attitude of both employees at the register noticeably changed. The cashier handed me my payment without saying anything and threw the money into my hand, and when I smiled and said, “Thank you!” as I left, she responded with a very curt, “BYE.”
The offers themselves weren’t the issue, the customer service was. It was an unnecessarily uncomfortable experience, and because of how I was treated after deciding not to sell everything, I won’t be selling here again.

TERRIBLE customer service, terrible experience. Rude workers. Do not care about customers. Never going back.
