I came into Aerie looking to buy underwear and asked the employees what the underwear size conversion chart was. Unfortunately, neither of the two women working knew what I was referring to, so I ended up having to look up the sizing chart myself. While I was shopping, my daughter started having a tantrum, so I had to leave suddenly. I had her in the stroller, she was crying and kicking, and I was trying to get everything together. I apologized to the employees and let them know I was leaving the underwear I had chosen on the counter because I had to go. As I was leaving, the woman kept asking me if something in my stroller was mine. I was confused because I was clearly dealing with my upset child and trying to leave. I eventually realized they were referring to the clothes I had purchased for my daughter from Cotton On Kids. Cotton On Kids doesn't provide a bag unless you pay for one, so the clothes were simply sitting in the stroller. I said yes, those were mine, and the employee responded with “never mind,” making it very clear that she had been insinuating that I was stealing. I found the entire interaction extremely inappropriate and out of touch, especially considering the situation I was visibly dealing with. I had just explained that I was leaving because my daughter was having a meltdown, and I was trying to manage her while also leaving the store. There were much more appropriate ways to ask about the items without making a customer feel as though they were being accused of theft.

Employees were standing around, did not offer any help and every time I walked past they were talking about drugs, their relationships, their drama and being rude. My boyfriend asked the manager on duty a question and she completely ignored him. Never again.

Jessica was the one who took care of my items in the register and she was really nice and kind! I can tell that she will continue to be a great employee for Aerie :)
