  Had a great experience with Meileng yesterday at the Florida Mall location. She had a great personality and was very helpful with posing my son who is not very photogenic. She's amazing with a wealth of knowledge regarding JC Penny's products and pricing. Highly recommend 👌.

  I had a very disappointing experience at the JCPenney at Florida Mall on September 29, 2026, at approximately 10:15 AM. I was returning a shirt that did not fit my husband. He had removed the original tag to try it on, but I had the original tag with me as well as my receipt. The employee at the returns counter told me she could not accept the return because the tag was no longer attached to the shirt and said that this was JCPenney’s return policy. After leaving the counter, I checked JCPenney’s published return policy myself. It states that original tags are required, but that, aside from Special Occasion Dresses and Men’s Tuxedos, the tags do not have to be in place on the merchandise. I returned to the counter and explained to the employee that I was not trying to call her a liar, but that she should be careful about the information she gives customers because I had just checked JCPenney’s own return policy. I showed her the policy directly. She responded that she would call her manager and that the manager would tell me the same thing. When the manager arrived, I asked to explain the situation first and showed her the policy. The manager ultimately told me that she would accept my return “this time,” but explained that the wording I was showing applied to men’s tuxedos. However, the published policy identifies Special Occasion Dresses and Men’s Tuxedos as the exceptions to the rule regarding detached tags. What bothered me most was being made to feel as though they were making a special exception for me. I was not asking for special treatment. I had my receipt, the original tag, and I had taken the time to verify and follow JCPenney’s own published return policy. What made the experience even more disappointing was that neither the employee nor the manager apologized for the situation or acknowledged that the information I had initially been given did not match the published policy. Even a simple apology would have made a difference. The return was ultimately accepted, but the way the situation was handled left me very disappointed with the customer service at this location. Customers should be able to rely on the company’s published policies, and employees and managers handling returns should be familiar with them and provide accurate and consistent information.

  I was really looking forward to having professional photos taken of my son, but unfortunately, I left feeling very disappointed with the overall experience and the final images. The studio had no A/C and did not appear to be very clean when we arrived, and there was trash on the floor despite us being there right when the store opened. I had specifically requested a white backdrop (which was available online) because I had planned my son’s outfit around it, but I was told the backdrop had mildew stains and could not be used. I understand that may not have been the photographer’s fault, but it ultimately meant that the setup I had planned for the photos was not possible. Most importantly, after looking through the final images, I was really disappointed with the quality. I paid hundreds of dollars for a 15-minute session and 40 digital images, and unfortunately, I don’t feel that the finished photos reflect the value of what I paid. Some of the images have studio baseboards and other elements in the background, and overall they look like something I could have taken at home rather than professional portraits. I could look past the quality of the studio because I wasn’t expecting the most professional service. However, the price and results are extremely disappointing.
