  First time in Blick, was recommended by a friend. I needed paint and brushes for a new class I was taking. The associate Kody was the most helpful person in retail I've come across. She was like an art encyclopedia..Would highly recommended the store and Kody!!!

  Blick is a really big, clean store, full of art‑related merchandise, and when I went to buy a few markers, the section had such a huge variety that I didn’t even know what to choose.

  I went there to get some gifts for my artsy bestie and for the life of me I felt so lost in that store. Thankfully I was assisted by this incredibly helpful associate called Kody. She was amazing at answering all my questions and had the patience to educate me on everything I felt so lost about in terms of art. It was my first time in Blicks and will not be my last. She even helped me get a pen and ink set since I did happen to have a want to explore calligraphy.

  I am extremely disappointed by the treatment I received at Blick Art Supply in Fort Lauderdale, and I feel compelled to share an experience that I found discriminatory and deeply offensive. Today, visited the store to purchase paint, brush cleaners, and several brushes for my artwork. One sales associate was very helpful and spent time assisting me in selecting different brushes and explaining the available discounts if I purchased multiple items. Everything seemed perfectly fine during my shopping experience. What happened at checkout, however, was completely unacceptable. A different cashier took the items I had selected and suddenly asked me, “Where did you put all the brushes?” I replied that I put them back at its containers. I asked why? Cashier was silent. I was immediately shocked by the question. The only way I could interpret this was that I was being suspected of concealing merchandise or attempting to steal items that I had not even selected for purchase. Then I told the cashier, would you like to check my bag and my pockets if I took those items? Still no response. I found this humiliating, insulting, and discriminatory. I was singled out and treated with suspicion for absolutely no reason. I have shopped at many art supply stores, including Jerry’s Artarama( for years) and other retailers, and I have never been questioned in a manner that implied I was dishonest or stealing. No customer should be made to feel profiled, falsely suspected, or quietly accused while standing at the register ready to pay. This experience left me feeling degraded and unfairly judged. Blick Art Supply should seriously evaluate how employees interact with customers, because what happened to me was not customer service — it was an unwarranted act of profiling and an experience that felt discriminatory judged.

  Working with Michaela was an absolute pleasure. She framed two pieces of artwork for us, and her creativity, artistic eye, and attention to detail truly brought them to life.
