Terrible service experience. Luxury is not just the product; it’s the treatment.
This past Tuesday, I visited the Miami Design District boutique with the intention of purchasing a handbag. We were forced to wait outside for over 25 minutes in the scorching heat. What made it worse was that the store was practically empty; we watched customers leave, yet the staff refused to let anyone else in. They didn’t even have the decency or basic courtesy to offer us a glass of water. It felt like waiting in line at a marketplace, not a high-fashion house. I was so insulted by the lack of respect and tact that the moment it was my turn to enter, I decided to turn around, walk out, and spend my money at another brand that actually values its client base.

I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I was made to wait in line while the store was half empty, which felt completely unnecessary and honestly a bit ridiculous.
I’ve shopped Chanel boutiques all over the world for over 30 years, and I’ve never experienced this level of indifference. The staff came across as if assisting customers was an inconvenience—simply asking to try on a pair of shoes felt like a bother to them.
I was looking for a specific, newer style that wasn’t even on display. They didn’t have my size, which is fine—but then tried to push a full size larger, insisting “it runs small.” It doesn’t. I know my size, and I wasn’t going to spend that kind of money on something that doesn’t fit properly.
What stood out even more was the inconsistency in service. Certain customers were being catered to with drinks and attention, while others—including myself—were left waiting with little acknowledgment. After such a long wait, even an offer of water would have been a basic courtesy.
This experience did not reflect the standard or service Chanel is known for.
