As a lifelong Star Wars fan, Savi's Workshop was one of the experiences I was most looking forward to. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the biggest disappointments of our Walt Disney World vacation. I had prepaid for my lightsaber reservation and arrived about 10 minutes early. The problem was that it wasn't clear where to check in. I approached a Cast Member with a tablet, who directed me to the registration line. After waiting there for about 10 minutes, I was told I wasn't in their system and was sent back to the Cast Member with the tablet. She then realized I was actually trying to check in and sent me to a different Cast Member in another line. By that point, any sense of immersion had already been lost. After choosing my build, I was sent back outside to wait another 10 minutes in the 98-degree Florida heat. I didn't enter the experience until roughly 25 minutes after my scheduled reservation. Inside, things felt chaotic and rushed. The main Cast Member leading the ceremony did his best and gave a great performance, but even he seemed frustrated by how everything was flowing. I tried to focus on him because he was clearly putting his heart into it. I brought my 7-year-old daughter with me to share the experience. During the crystal selection, we're instructed to close our eyes and choose based on the Force. Somehow I ended up with a blue crystal. When I asked my daughter how that happened, she simply said, "That's the one they gave you." I had wanted a green crystal, but the ceremony moved so quickly there wasn't an opportunity to correct it before everyone was rushed to the next step. The ending felt just as hurried. Bags were handed out, we were quickly ushered outside, and we walked straight into a Florida monsoon. We were soaked before I even realized it was raining. Looking back, I was paying for the experience more than the lightsaber itself, and unfortunately the experience didn't live up to the price. Between the confusing check-in, the delays, the rushed ceremony, and having to purchase the green kyber crystal separately for another $30 after already spending hundreds of dollars, I left feeling disappointed. I still love the lightsaber itself, but if I had known the experience would unfold this way, I probably would have purchased a custom lightsaber elsewhere for about the same money. For me, Savi's Workshop simply wasn't worth the premium price.

Experience itself was reasonably nice although short, but be extremely weary with the the purchase because it breaks easily and their return/replacement policy is trash. I bought this item in February of this year, a few weeks later (after minimal use as I mostly have it on display) I noticed it wouldn't turn on. I initially believed it was just bad batteries, so I replaced them. After I replaced the batteries I turned it on to see if it worked and it did (but only briefly). However, the second time it stopped working after basically no use. Unfortunately, I believed the problem was solved after I changed the batteries because it turned back on and I left it on display again. But the next time I used it, it would not turn on again after basically no use. I tried to speak to the Disney Merchandise department about replacement parts and they advised they had a 30 day return policy and nothing could be done. Considering this is a technical item that costs $300 (and I also spent another $100 buying accessories), with people travelling from all over the world to purchase who may not immediately realize issues or be able to return it, their return/replacement policy is ridiculous. The people in the Merchandise department are also really unhelpful and rude, especially when compared to speaking to anyone else over the phone with Disney. I would not recommend making a purchase here or for any technical items at Disney, as their return policy is the same everywhere (30 days). Anything that could possibly stop working is just not worth the risk. As someone who literally spends way too much money buying Disney products, at least I should be grateful I now know to avoid any "breakable" items moving forward.

I booked this for both my son and I to build a lightsaber each. The price was concerning but I thought it would be a good memory for us. I have to say that this was an absolutely excellent experience. I enjoyed the whole theatre of it and the quality of the lightsaber is amazing. They are metal and are quite heavy and very sturdy. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely incredible experience. I brought my 5 year old son and he got to pick out and build his first light saber. Everything was fantastic. The booking, check-in, and the actual build. We will be back for sure.

I was here on May the 4th! I was fortunate enough to make a reservation far enough in advance for this experience. Anyone who has a chance to do this needs too! It was everything I imagined and more! Will build a second one if ever get the chance again!!
