  I am writing this review to warn other shoppers—especially anyone shopping alone—about a deeply unsettling experience I had at this location. During my visit, I noticed a man persistently following me up and down the aisles. At first, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but it quickly became obvious that I was being targeted and watched. Feeling deeply uncomfortable and concerned for my safety, I stopped, turned to him directly, and asked what was wrong, politely letting him know that I was simply trying to shop. His response (or lack thereof) made the situation even more disturbing. He mumbled "nothing" and then proceeded to continue following me and watching my every move throughout the rest of the store. Instead of backing off or acting like a normal customer, he showed an aggressive disregard for basic personal boundaries. What made this exponentially worse was the complete inaction of the staff. At no point did any employee step in, check to see if I was okay, or address a stranger openly stalking a customer inside their establishment. A store should be a safe environment where people can run errands without being harassed or stalked. Management needs to seriously retrain their staff on situational awareness and customer protection. Until this store takes basic safety and security seriously, I will not be returning, and I strongly urge others to stay alert if they choose to shop here.

  DISCRIMINATION ! Absolutely heartbreaking and disappointing experience at the Clearwater Gulf to Bay location. While shopping for a friend’s birthday gift, I was racially profiled by the Manager, Tony and his employee. I usually go to Target, but because of the constant racial controversy surrounding them I decided to go to bealls and ironically this happens. Shortly after entering the store, I noticed Tony(store manager) and his employee watching me. They were pretending to have a conversation while lurking around to see if I was going to steal anything. To confirm my assumption, I purposely walked around different sections of the store and each time, his employee was right behind me. They played right into it thinking I wasn’t paying attention. When I confronted them, I was met with sarcasm, dismissal, and no accountability. They’re ignorance left me feeling disrespected and deeply uncomfortable. I am not a thief, nor have I ever been one. Unfortunately, Tony refused to give me his name and his employee’s name. I had to get his name from another employee but wasn’t able to get hers. This kind of treatment is never okay and should never be normalized. If you’ve experienced something similar at this Bealls location or anywhere else, please share your experience and report it in anyway you can. As a “leader”,Tony completely dropped the ball and shame on his employee for going along with it. After reviewing the security tapes, please hold these people accountable.
