  I visited the Bealls store on July 29, 2026, at around 10:00 a.m. because I wanted to buy some bras. When I walked in, there were two associates at the front. They looked at me but never greeted me or asked if I needed help, even though I later noticed they greeted customers who came in after me. I went to the bra section while talking on the phone with my boyfriend. Shortly after, one associate appeared in that department. As I moved around the section, she seemed to move wherever I went. I then went into the fitting room to try on the bras. When I came out, she had positioned herself right where I had been shopping. After that, I went to the sandal section to browse. A few moments later, the male associate who had been at the front came over and asked how I was doing and whether I needed help. I work in retail myself, so I’m familiar with loss prevention practices, and it felt very obvious that I was being watched because they suspected I might steal. It made me feel uncomfortable and singled out. Because of how I was treated, I no longer wanted to shop there. I even put the sandals I was considering back. As I started walking back toward the bra section, I noticed the two associates had switched positions, with the female associate returning to the bra department. At that point, it reinforced the feeling that I was being followed throughout the store. The only reason I completed my purchase was because my mom encouraged me to buy the bras since that was the main reason I came in. Otherwise, I would have left without buying anything. No customer should feel like they’re under suspicion simply for shopping. If there was genuine customer service being offered, I would have appreciated being greeted when I entered, just like other customers were, instead of feeling watched the entire time. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression, and I don’t plan on shopping at this location again.
