Buying I can't speak on that but I don't recommend taking clothes or anything else there unless you just want some cash and plan on donating what they don't take anyway. Yeezy zebras first release , foam runner stone and, a pair of bape adidas. They offered $76 for all three pairs and good condition a little wear but still new. Crazy work I know they take half of the last sale price from stock x and then take another what 80% lol. Idk wild to me but makes sense why they're still in business

**THE WORST PLATO’S CLOSET IN HISTORY — STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION.** I brought **two heavy bags of clothing, approximately 100 pieces total**, to Plato’s Closet in Newark, Delaware. And before anyone questions that number: **I counted my items and I took pictures of what I brought in.** I know exactly what I brought with me. This is NOT my first rodeo selling clothing. The bags contained all kinds of items—**youth clothing, business attire, casual clothing, winter clothing and more.** There was plenty of variety, and I was completely prepared for them to purchase some things and reject others. That is how consignment/resale works. Instead, I was told to **leave my bags there and come back in at least 30 minutes so they could “sort” through everything.** Fine. I came back approximately 15 minutes later when they texted me, and suddenly I was told **they weren't buying anything right now.** Okay. Then why was I asked to leave approximately 100 pieces of my clothing there for them to sort through? Here is where this experience went from ridiculous to completely unacceptable: When I received my clothing back, I was missing a substantial number of items. I had counted approximately 100 pieces. When I got my belongings back, I had 60, I also had photographs documenting what I brought in. **That means approximately 40 pieces of my clothing were unaccounted for.** Where did they go? I did not give them permission to keep anything. They didn't purchase anything from me. I didn't authorize them to dispose of anything. And I certainly did not authorize anyone to walk away with my belongings. And no, **a $5 coupon does not make that acceptable.** You cannot take someone's property, fail to purchase it, return only a portion of it, and think a five-dollar coupon somehow makes the situation okay. I am absolutely furious about this experience, and I have every right to be. I know what I brought in because **I counted it and photographed it.** I know what I received back because the difference was obvious. And apparently I'm not the only person who has had a terrible experience with this location. After looking through the reviews, I found plenty of other customers expressing serious frustration with this store and its handling of clothing. **I will NEVER bring another item into this location.** Instead, I put my clothing on **Vinted and Poshmark—and guess what? I've actually SOLD the items, and for more money.** So thank you, Plato's Closet Newark, for showing me that I don't need you to sell my clothes. If you are thinking about bringing your clothing here, **COUNT EVERY SINGLE ITEM. TAKE PHOTOS. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.** Do not assume that because you hand your bags over to a store, everything will come back to you. This location has completely lost my trust. **The greed will get you nowhere. May the wrath of God be upon you.**

I’m disappointed with my experience at Plato’s Closet. They purchased my shoes from me, and after I had already completed the transaction and cashed out, I was told that they “could have” priced the shoes higher. If you knew the shoes had more value, that should have been considered before completing the purchase and paying me. Telling me afterward that you could have given me more money was frustrating and made me feel like my business wasn’t valued. I understand businesses need to make a profit, but I believe transactions should be handled fairly and professionally from the beginning.

I've only been to this location a handful of times. I'm a big guy so I know finding clothes in my size is a long shot, shoes too - they're just hard to find anywhere. I get that. I'll pop in when I have some spare time because it's close to the house, check the men's section in my size, and usually leave empty-handed. That's fine, that's just how thrifting goes. The reason I won't be back isn't the selection. It's how it feels to be in the store. Even when I don't talk to anyone and just look quietly, I feel like I'm a problem or a burden for being there. I've heard some of the younger staff talk down to or about customers while I was browsing, and I've heard other customers have issues when trying to sell/exchange clothes - which lines up with a lot of other reviews I've read. I did retail myself, so I get it can be a pain. But I shouldn't feel unwelcome just for walking in and looking. Last time I even tried looking for stuff for my son and wife and didn't find anything. At this point I'd rather not go back.
