- EJEugene JacksonNov 1, 20221.0I started having problems with my Interlock system with my Nissan Titan at the beginning of this year I got a new car you got a new Interlock system put in that and I've had tenual problems from the time I put it in for the last 2 months I have not been able to drive my car at all I continue getting recall I continue getting battery air to you getting ignition air I've taken it down to the service shop three or four times I've had my car towed three times I've changed alternators batteries use links fuses is all after then it lock system was put in mind my vehicle

The technician that wired my car blew fuses won’t take any responsibility for it and gave me the company number. I called the company been on hold for 20 min. The fuses blown caused the stability track and tpms to stay on. Worst service and company technicians possible. Next month: gave me free month of service and extra 16$ extra credit.

What do I need to bring to my installation?
Bring a photo ID and proof of residence in the form of a document verifying your address. How do I know if Smart Start's devices are compliant with my program?

How often does my Ignition Interlock Device need to be serviced?

What do I need for removal?
Requirements will differ by state, but generally your state authority must grant removal authorization before you can have your IID removed. You will then need to fill out the Device Removal Request form on our website and upload any official documentation that may be required to authorize the removal.
Do I need an Interlock Device on all of my vehicles?
Some states will require that you have an Ignition Interlock Device installed on all cars registered to you, but most states will just require that whichever vehicle you drive have an IID installed. Check with your state authority to see if you will need an IID installed on all of your cars.

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
Can I unplug my Ignition Interlock?
Check with your state authority to see if you are allowed to unplug your Ignition Interlock before doing so.
Can someone else drive my car?
Yes, but whoever is driving the vehicle MUST take a breath test and pass before driving. Any failed test will still be your responsibility.
