Had fun looking for a gift. The staff showed me appropriate items. Explained to me why items I choose wouldn't work. How fortunate to have this store close by.

I use to love going to Amatos New Britain as a child to see the huge train they had there. I now love stopping in to this location sometimes just to waste an hour and spend a few bucks but I won't be doing that anymore because I get followed around the store and watched the entire time, the women in charge or maybe she is the owner specifically ids very judgmental of minority men who enter the store alone. Also, their legos are at least 5-10$ higher price than most other retailers. In this economy I can't justify spending and extra 5-10$ on toys except if you're getting an excelptional loan experience with it. The guys in back are always cool and informational about the R/C trucks though I highly recommend first time R/C guys to stop by just avoid the older lady who is all done up.

I brought my children here when they were toddlers. In their teens & tweens they still enjoy the Amatos experience. (I do wish they had sparkly fairy skirts in adult sizes).
