  Unethical Sales Tactics and Misleading Hours – Avoid This Location! I have been a loyal shopper at the Lone Tree JCPenney since 2000, but after my experience tonight, I WILL NEVER RETURN. The Issues: TURNING AWAY CUSTOMERS EARLY: My daughter and I arrived at 6:40 PM for her first school dance dress. Despite Google and the doors stating a 7:00 PM close, an employee tried to block us, claiming they were "closing in 10 minutes." DECEPTIVE CREDIT CARD PRACTICES: We found a dress marked 40% off. At checkout, the clerk insisted the only way to get that price was to open a JCPenney credit card. Being rushed and pressured by the "closing" staff, I felt forced to comply just so my daughter wouldn't lose the dress she loved. FALSE INFORMATION: After getting home, I checked the website. The 40% discount was a standard sale price available to everyone—no line of credit required. As a single mother, I work hard for my money. To be pressured into a financial commitment based on a lie is PREDATORY and UNPROFESSIONAL. I didn't need my credit pulled over savings that was available to everyone! If you shop here, double-check EVERY "deal" they claim requires a card and don't let the staff bully you out before their posted closing time!

  I'm appalled by the lack of Integrity at the JCPenney at Lone Tree. I WILL NEVER BE COMING BACK HERE AGAIN! And I've been shopping here since 2000! Learn from my experience and double check EVERYTHING! Or find the manager... if you have the will to argue. My daughter and I went to Lone Tree JCPenny for her first school dance dress. We started at there and went through the whole mall circling back to JCPenny around 6:40 PM. Immediately upon arrival an employee told us that they were closing in "10 minutes" and I had to argue with her that we parked at this store's entrance and to let us walk in. How unwelcoming having to argue your way back into a store?... After bypassing her, I checked on my phone on google and saw they closed at 7 PM which still gave us 20 minutes to pick the dress we had in mind and head to the checkout. At checkout, the dress rang up at it's original price of $74. (The whole department had signs across all over for 40% off a $50 purchase and the more you buy, more you save.) I explained to the clerk that the sign said %40 off, and she replied that I needed to open a JCPenny card in order to get that price. We had looked everywhere and that dress was the only one that my daughter felt comfortable in. As a single mother, I work so hard to keep my family a float, and we decided to go back to JCPenny because I could afford the prices + styles, but I was forced into applying for their credit card because I didn't have enough time (due to them closing 15 minutes ago according to the first clerk, which wasn't true at all) to go back and bring the sign to her to argue with her. After getting approved and getting my 'discount' I looked on their website and sure enough I wasn't tripping!! The same dress was on sale for %40 off!! I feel very taken advantage of! The price I originally had in mind due to their sign was available regardless, yet I was forced into opening a credit card. I'm sure if I had time to call a manager things would have been different. Unfriendly and unethical!
