It was a madhouse when I went in so I grabbed a bundle of clothes and asked if I could buy them, try on at home and return what wouldn’t work (shocking concept, I know). I was assured as long as it was within 7 days and I had the original receipt I could return with no issues. I came back to the store less than four hours later with my unwanted items and receipt Upon arriving at the counter, the girl nicely asked if we were ready to check out. Upon informing her that we actually had returns, you would have thought we just told her she’s fired. Her whole attitude changed immediately. She tossed a pad of paper and pen at me so hard that it clattered on the counter and mumbled at me to fill it out. She started pawing through the pile of clothes, then without looking at us, said “yeah you can’t even return half this stuff its Final sale.” Never mind the fact that I had specially asked whether I could return the items. Luckily another girl came over and looked through them and revealed that it was ONE item that couldn’t be returned out of six. But we weren’t done yet. The girl continued our return and then scanned a shirt, looked at us and said “yeah you didn’t buy this”. To which I responded “um yes I did. I bought it this morning and put it on the counter with everything else.” She didn’t acknowledge this and the next second whipped around to her manager and loudly announced to the whole store “UM THEY’RE TRYING TO RETURN SOMETHING THEY DIDN’T EVEN PAY FOR”. Immediately my sister corrected her and informed her that we had put it on the counter and if they didn’t scan it that wasn’t on us. The girl than announced to the store that “there were items on the receipt that weren’t on the counter to be returned.” Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize that I wasn’t allowed to keep anything that I had paid for. Her manager came back over, looked at everything, did not say one word to us and then told the girl it was fine. There was no apology, not even acknowledgement that they had messed up. Just immediate accusations towards paying customers, when the employees were the ones who messed up. I’m not saying the customer is always right, but at Plato’s Closet, the customer is ALWAYS WRONG. hey if you made it this far in the review, props to you!

How is this place still even open? No point in trying to sell your clothes here, and no point in shopping here.

Don’t waste your time selling here. Offered $2.80 for each of my brand new American Eagle pants and $6 for nearly a brand new pair of Nike Dunks. 😂 Go to literally any other Plato’s Closet in the Denver metro area.
