  Southlands location will not provide good customer service if you’ve lost your receipt. I was told, they can not find it in the system without her even trying to look. Went to the location at Aurora Mall and Louis provided outstanding customer service and was able to locate my receipt within 3 minutes. Don’t let them tell you they have a new computer system and they are not able to find the receipt. They can if they are willing to learn how to look it up and actually help customers

  This JCPenny is on the smaller side. There were a lot of empty spaces. Stores like this are slowly fading out. The prices start at the $25 - $30ish range.

  Today at the Southland Aurora CO JCPenney salon became one of the most stressful and unfair encounters I have ever faced. What began as a simple redo appointment for a haircut turned into a situation filled with miscommunication, disrespect, and retaliation from multiple employees. The issue started about two week on August 18, 2026 when my haircut was done incorrectly. I had clear pictures showing the uneven fade, and on August 23, 2026 the salon approved to schedule a redo on August 26, 2026. When I forgot the appointment, I returned on Saturday to rebook it on. A kind employee helped me and scheduled the redo correctly. However, another salon worker interfered, refused to rebook it, and argued with me, Later, my stylist admitted that this same employee told her not to accept the redo at all. When I arrived for the redo, my stylist took me in without telling me that they are not going to consider this visit as a redo. When we finished fixing my hair my stylist told us that she can't accept the redo, after explaining everything to her and showing her her mistake, she still refused, and then she Googled on her phone “men’s fade” to claim the haircut was fine. Then when we said that "we are not paying for another haircut. She called the assistant manager who refused to listen and took my stylist's side right away without even knowing what was going on. When the stylist explained to her a little bit of what's happening she started to bring up the 7‑day haircut redo policy, even though the redo had already been approved and twice rebooked. She didn’t check the booking, nor did she look at the pictures. Instead of solving the problem, she escalated it by calling the store manager. By the time the store manager arrived, the situation was already heated because two employees had ignored the facts and mishandled the issue. The store manager told us to lower our voices, even though our frustration came from being ignored. I lowered my voice and explained the entire situation for the third time, starting from Saturday. Right after that, my stylist confessed in front of the manager that the rude employee told her not to accept the redo. Even with that information, the store manager repeated the same 7‑day redo haircut rule. When we said we were still not paying for a redo that should have been free, she said that she would pay for the haircut herself. But instead of actually paying, she walked to the payment machine and simply declined the transaction. It was clear she was trying to end the conversation without fixing anything.Then the situation escalated. The store manager instructed the staff to block first name, last name, and everything in their system, after she declined the transaction. Then she said "I was not allowed to come back for a haircut". As we were leaving, she even threatened to call the police, even though we were already walking out the door and had done nothing wrong. We told her she could call them because we would call them too. We left calmly, telling the store manager that she was incredibly rude and that she can't treat people like this and that we would be contacting corporate.

  AVOID THIS LOCATION - Corporate Policies Hurt Consumers - JC Penny's Corporate Offices Hate's Their Customers. This location/brand is likely the only major retailer that can't/won't look up transactions using card numbers. They show so little value for the customer's money that they won't refund items that are fully wrapped and completely intact as when bought. On top of that, the corporate HQ won't take customer calls, and their CSRs are seemingly instructed to keep customers on hold for 20+ minutes and constantly transfer them around to the wrong departments, only to say: "I found the corp contact number, transferring you now," and before anyone can speak, they connect you to a random retail location to connect with an operator that can't speak english. The Southlands retail location doesn't care about your business, and neither does the JC Penney corporate management - they want to sell you low-end clothing and keep your money when the clothes don't work. Shop elsewhere!

  JCPenney is a great place to shop for clothing, home goods, and more. The store has a good selection, reasonable prices, and helpful staff. I always enjoy shopping here and appreciate the variety of products and frequent deals. Highly recommended!
