Keep in mind this was around the holidays like late December 2025, I had went to the store to return items I had bought online. The thing I made my experience terrible would be how the return customer service desk for some reason also does purchases? Not only did I have to wait as someone was purchasing in the desk, but it took so long considering the fact on how much stuff they were looking to buy AND the time wasted when an item was not priced as listed and the customer kept trying to have them honor the price. On top of that them asking if there are additional coupons. So not only did I or like 2 other people had to wait, the cherry on top was after the purchase they wanted to do a payment on the Jcpenney card. Like I usually shop at the one in Santa Ana, but after that I have not really gone often. The main problem for me is WHY are they doing purchases in the return station when there’s other booths that help with that AND there’s only ONE return station. Whoever agreed for that to be allowed has to be the most idiotic person. Like genuinely you don’t see Walmarts or like Costcos return stations do purchases. And look, I get it if like you were looking to return THEN do a separate transaction for purchase. But when it’s just purely purchase WHY would you go to the only station that does returns. I get it that customers come first and customer appease so that’s maybe why, but seriously your just making it worse for the people who ACTUALLY need returns. If jcpenney were to read this AND do something about it, PLEASE do. I and other people are tired. Like said you wouldn’t see people try to purchase items in a target return section. So please fix this issue.
