  I recently had a very unpleasant experience with Barry L. at Nordstrom Rack (Oakridge Mall) while making a return. His name, Barry, was listed on my receipt, which is how I know the associate’s name. I was returning four brand-new clothing items that I had purchased online simply because they did not fit or look right on me. There was absolutely nothing wrong with any of the items, and Barry ultimately processed and finalized the returns. The issue was the attitude and the way the entire interaction made me feel. While waiting in line, I watched Barry assist other customers and noticed the same pattern: extremely slow processing, repeatedly examining items, and a demeanor that made people appear uncomfortable and unwelcome. When it was my turn, I experienced the same treatment. He checked the tags, inside labels, and photos of each item, then repeatedly went back and checked everything again. I completely understand verifying that the correct merchandise is being returned, but this went far beyond a reasonable inspection. These were four brand-new items, the returns were completely legitimate, and he ultimately accepted all of them anyway. What was most disappointing was the attitude. His expressions and manner made me feel as though I was doing something wrong simply because I was returning clothing that didn’t fit or suit me. With online shopping, you simply cannot know exactly how a garment will fit or look on you until you receive it and try it on. That is a normal part of shopping online, not something a customer should feel judged or made uncomfortable about. I’ve always associated Nordstrom with excellent customer service, which made this experience particularly disappointing. The problem wasn’t that my items were checked; it was the excessive scrutiny, repeated checking, and overall attitude that made a completely routine return feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I hope Nordstrom addresses this type of customer service, as no one should feel uncomfortable, scrutinized, or unwelcome when making a legitimate return.

  This young lady helped me in the makeup section with picking out a birthday set for my sister she was so much help very respectful, kind, really put her full attention on me. we need more respectful people like her great retail person!!
