  Big thx to Jay at Bass Pro here in San Jose for helping me get equipped for a casual fishing trip. While I walked in knowing the basics, this fella helped me choose a pole, line, weights, hooks, chest pack, and gave me some solid advice on bait, including proper regulations to look out for. When I told him I would be fishing for trout, he had even more first hand experience and wisdom to share. Feeling good about my fishing gear setup, and did it all for less than $200 thx to Jay’s direction. The folks at Bass Pro are taking good care of us here in SJ with the absence of Mel Cottons, the SJ legendary spot for gear. Bravo Jay, thx again. PS…they were tuned into KRTY at the hotdog roast out front. Solid local legendary choice too.

  difficult to get someone on the phone. lots of "limited stock" items which are actually out of stock. website is broken and does not accurately filter for in store inventory. if you can't tell me what's on the shelf so that I can buy it today, I may as well stay home and order from Amazon which probably has better prices.

  I purchased an item in-store, but it had to be special ordered. Unfortunately, the wrong size and color were delivered. I called to ask if I could return the item by mail since the store is about 45 minutes away from me. I was told I would need to pay a $14.99 return shipping fee, even though the mistake was entirely on your end. From the associates who helped place the order to the customer service representatives I spoke with, the overall experience has been frustrating. No one seemed to have a clear understanding of how to properly resolve an issue that was caused by the store.

  Been in there twice over the last year I saw 4 people no less wandering around in the knife and gun section you have to go looking for help they ignore you and today I was told I'll be right there I still had to wait 5 minutes while he was chatting with a co worker. This took approx 14 minutes of nobody coming to this section . Finally some older guy started wandering over ???? And I left the store possibly a $100 sale I'll buy online from now on with somebody else .oh and the greeters stand up front and stare at you one guy was flexing his arms like he was at a gym ??? What's with these people.
