Had a wonderful experience few days ago. Bough an amazing pair of jeans and T-shirts, selection was great and store associates were very patience and helpful (I had to shop with my 2 little kids). Excited for new spring collection and will come back soon.

Madewell is one of my favorite stores, but the customer service received at this location was simply awful. The clerks didn't acknowledge me or the other guests when we entered the store, and they chit chatted amongst themselves about some weekend trip, neglecting to help me with a fitting room (so I helped myself) as I walked around the store. When I made my purchase, they nearly forgot to add the discount that I had brought up seconds before, and they did not ask for my email address for the loyalty program. When I asked them to add the points, I only remembered after I made the purchase, and the saleswoman haughtily replied "well, you can't now" and told me they would have to return the purchase, and enter it again. I decided it was no big issue and so decided not to, but she appeared fed up and annoyed with the customers, for no reason. The Carlsbad forum location has much better customer service, although the store layouts are more or less the same.
