  UPDATE — Response to owner: I would like to clarify the name discrepancy mentioned in the owner's response. My first name is Ronald, which is the name I provided when I brought my items into your store. Lee is my middle name and the name displayed on my Google account, which is why this review appears under Lee Johnson. I have also attached a photo of the receipt issued to me by your Pleasanton store on September 11, 2026, showing my name as RONALD JOHNSON and identifying my transaction as Buy #7. I am providing the receipt so there can be no misunderstanding that I was in fact a customer at this location and that my review describes an actual experience I had there. I made a special trip from Stockton to Plato’s Closet in Pleasanton specifically to sell 12 items, all brand new with tags and in excellent condition, including designer handbags, backpacks, and Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren clothing. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from beginning to end. The two employees working when I arrived did not greet or acknowledge me, and when I spoke with them, their demeanor made me feel more like I was bothering them than a valued customer. When I returned to the counter about an hour and a half later for my offer, I encountered the same unfriendly attitude. The employee seemed irritated by my questions and came across as condescending rather than helpful or professional. They accepted only 6 of my 12 items, which surprised me considering everything was new with tags and appeared to be in better condition than much of the merchandise I saw on display. I understand that resale stores have to be selective, but the evaluation seemed excessively picky. To make matters worse, the offer for the items they did accept was extremely low—so low that it felt insulting given the brands and condition. After driving all the way from Stockton, I left feeling that neither my business nor my merchandise was valued. Between the poor customer service, lack of professionalism, overly selective buying process, and extremely low offer, I had a very negative experience. I will not be returning, and I do not recommend this location to others looking to sell their items.

  Definitely NOT paying you out the way they claim they do, which apparently says, "They usually offer you about 30% to 40% of the price they plan to charge in the store.". That's not true at all so be careful of what you sell them regarding quality vs quantity. Simply put, don't sell them your good stuff. You're better off selling online, at a garage sale, or flea market.

  The girls that opened the door at opening time was kind of rude, she did not welcomed us, or even said good morning, the price they want to pay for your items really low, even when they were pink new clothes, will not ever go ing back
