Vivan was great help today, ending up buying things i never expected that I will choose this quickly
Very disappointing experience that left us feeling singled out and unfairly treated.
On the afternoon of August 23, we were shopping at this Polo store and attempted to purchase only 7 items totaling less than $300. However, a male employee wearing a white shirt decided that we were “resellers” and refused to allow us to complete our purchase.
i would genuinely like to know what that assumption was based on.
Is purchasing seven items for less than $300 really considered an unusual amount at a clothing store? There is also sales tax, and the discounts were not so extraordinary that these purchases would obviously indicate resale activity. We were not purchasing excessive quantities of the same item, nor were we doing anything that reasonably demonstrated that we were resellers.
So what exactly made this employee decide that we were resellers?
The fact that we are Chinese customers and were speaking Chinese makes this especially concerning. It left us wondering whether we were stereotyped as “resellers” because of our ethnicity or the language we were speaking.
If Polo/Ralph Lauren has an official purchase-limit or anti-resale policy, we are completely willing to follow it. But that policy should be clearly explained and, most importantly, applied consistently to every customer regardless of ethnicity, nationality, or language.
Would a non-Chinese customer purchasing the exact same seven items for less than $300 also have been labeled a reseller and refused service?
We are not asking for special treatment. We are simply asking to be treated with the same fairness and respect as every other customer.
I hope Polo/Ralph Lauren takes this seriously, reviews what happened on the afternoon of August 23 involving the male employee wearing a white shirt, and explains exactly what store policy we supposedly violated.

Déçu des prix pratiqués
I usually shop at the Desert Hills location, but since I was in the area today, I decided to check out the Ontario Mills store. The location was tidy, well-organized, and easy to navigate. I also had a wonderful experience with the floor sales team and fitting room staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, the checkout experience was highly disappointing. The cashier was completely distracted, chatting with her colleagues while ringing up my items. Despite the fact that I mentioned a 25% off discount code at the very start of the transaction, she forgot to apply it. I noticed the mistake after reviewing the first receipt (attached photo 1) and had to ask her to redo the entire process. The second photo shows the corrected total, though I noticed she listed it as a standard return. Her dismissive attitude and lack of focus were unprofessional and ruined an otherwise great shopping trip.
On a positive note, I reported the incident to the store manager immediately. I truly appreciate the manager’s patience, prompt involvement, and assurance that this behavior would be addressed. I hope to see a much-improved checkout experience here in the future.

Shout out to David who was very patient in retrieving all the items that I needed in preparation for my families Mother’s Day photo shoot.
I completed gathering my kids outfits, and I asked David to please put their outfits upfront. And as I was shopping for my outfits, I figured I can get myself a few more things since I was by myself because I didn’t have any kiddos with me as well 😆
So after shopping for a while, I went to buy my things and I forgot the kids outfit.
I remembered the kid outfits were at the far-end register from where I checked out, but I remembered after closing hours… on my WAY HOME! 😬
So I took a chance and I called the store because the photo shoot was the next day!
Luckily Justin picked up the phone and was sympathetic/understanding of my current situation… that if I came home without the kids outfit that I would’ve been 6ft under RIP dead 🪦 like they say!
So I immediately came back, and I was greeted with a smile and laughter by Justin and the crew members.
I told Justin and the crew they are Lifesavers… literally 😄
I also want to give a shoutout to the rest of their crew there, they always accommodating/patient with one needs especially with a group of kids 😄
