  Very disappointing experience today that was not at all the caliber of service I've come to expect from Nordstrom. I came in to return a dress and a pair of earrings, both in their original packaging. Before looking up my account or reviewing the items, the clerk asked whether the merchandise had been purchased from Nordstrom. I was honestly shocked by the question. As a customer standing at the Nordstrom return counter, I would expect an associate to verify my purchase history before making assumptions. The interaction felt judgmental and dismissive. What I witnessed afterward in the café was even more troubling. An elderly woman approached the bar and politely asked for a glass of water. Rather than assisting her promptly, the bartender and servers made her wait and appeared to mock her request. I was seated close enough to hear and observe their behavior, and I was horrified by the lack of professionalism and compassion. The woman could have had a medical condition or any number of reasons for needing water quickly, yet her request seemed to be treated as an inconvenience and a joke. It felt unkind, disrespectful, and completely inconsistent with the customer service standards Nordstrom is known for. I left feeling disappointed, not only by how I was treated, but by what I witnessed. I hope management addresses these issues, as no customer should feel judged, dismissed, or mocked while shopping or dining in your store.

  I had a very disappointing experience with the sales associate, Josiah (or Jasiah). I came in to return an item, and instead of providing basic customer service, he dismissively asked me to open the box for him without any explanation or courtesy. Later, I purchased another item that still had a security tag attached. When I brought it back to his attention, he simply said, “Where is it?” in a dismissive tone, removed the tag, and never apologized for the inconvenience. To top it off, when I asked for a bag so I could carry my purchase out, he silently handed me one without acknowledging my request or saying a single word. None of these interactions were serious on their own, but taken together they came across as dismissive and unprofessional. A little courtesy, communication, and a simple apology can make a big difference in a customer’s experience. I’m sharing this review because I genuinely hope management uses it as an opportunity to improve the customer service experience for others. Unfortunately, after this visit, I don’t plan on shopping here again.
