  Imagine wondering why So many businesses like JCPenney is going out of business. Thinking the economy has to be the main reason and experience one of the real reasons. Horrible customer service and even worse policies. I happened in one of the few remaining JCPenney's in the Bay Area. You're making your way through the store. When some watches, that happened to be in the clearance section, catcher your eye. You call over someone over, so you can just find out the price of the watch. Not to try it on, not to hold it or anything. Just curious how much the watch is. Making it easier for you to decide if you want to actually take a look at it. The lady tells you. "I need your ID if you want to see the watch". Confused, I told her I just want to know how much it was? But she continues to make a ridiculous point that a "ID" is required to know the price. What kind of world are we living in right now. That it requires an "ID" to know the price of a item. She then proceeded to tell me it's store policy to try on a watch. Which I replied, I just want to know how much? Is this how you run a business JCPenny? Last time I checked, you guys are on the verge of bankruptcy? Is it wise to treat a potential customer? Though it is not a million dollar sale. It was a potential in sale. In a store that had more employees than customers. The fact that another employee comes over because they see the ridiculous situation happening. I tell her exactly what happened. I just want to know the price. Which she obliged without a problem. The original employee proceeded to tell us that it's the JCPenney policy. But I find out it's not a Nation Wide Policy. I don't know if it just happens to be this one of what. But asking the price of a product. Shouldn't be this difficult. I will never come back to JCPenney and I will make sure. I let everyone I know. Not to shop there either. That had to be one of the most annoying things I've had to deal with in awhile.

  I'll never shop at this location again. Went to checkout the jewelry sale and also do a return. There were only three people at the jewelry department and this big woman working there was so slow and took so long to help customers. I can't believe the wait they had just to look at jewelry. I also had to call JCPenny's phone customer service while I was there to help with an online purchase return because in store they were giving me so much trouble even though I had a receipt. I'll just stick to online shopping.

  Pathetic service. Asked for a pick up. Waited for half an hour in my car. Never showed up. The manger was super rude. Do not select their pick unless you are ready to waste hours. Highly unrecommend
