  To whomever it may concern, Today (11/24/19) I had the most unpleasant experience in your Folsom, CA outlet store. Your security guard (older latino man) yanked a box of sports earbuds out of my hands while I was shopping. Then he proceeded to ask me where I had found it. I showed him the exact location. His response was, "Oh that must be new! I haven't seen that before." He handed it back to me and then left. I assumed he was interested in buying a pair for himself, as his tone was cheery and he gave no indication that anything was wrong, so, although I thought he had been rude to yank the box from my hands, I shrugged off his behavior and continued shopping. 15 minutes later while I was standing in line to pay for the earbuds, the security guard reappeared and told me that customers aren't supposed to pull items from that part of the store. I surrendered the earbuds to him, said I didn't want any trouble and walked out without fuss. As I was waiting outside, my mother complained to the store supervisor. The supervisor told her that this is their store policy and defended the security guard's actions saying, "We have this policy because in the past teenagers have pulled from that spot without asking." I am NOT a teenager; I am nearly 30 years old. Your security guard treated me like a child based on his incorrect perception of my age based solely on my appearance. This is blatant age discrimination. I have to wonder how well you are training your employees. 1) Nowhere is your policy about this posted. A simple notice of "Please ask sales associate for assistance" would have been sufficient. 2) Do you specifically instruct your security guards to yank items out of people's hands? Ask yourself in what reality is that appropriate? AND 3) Do you encourage your employees to hassle a customer about a policy WHILE the customer is IN LINE to PAY for the item? Are you are OK with losing a sale to enforce a not posted policy 15 minutes after the apparent policy violation? How does your company stay in business if your employees are actively discouraging your customers from making purchases? I advise that you retrain your employees in customer service, anti-discrimination and proper sales procedure. I am extremely disappointed in your company and WILL NOT return to your Folsom, CA outlet store.
