(prefacing this by saying i work retail myself, and have for many years so i'm aware and understanding of policies etc. i didn’t catch the girls name but she had bleached hair. & lastly, this is probably the first time in my life i’ve had to write a review like this unfortunately)
i came in to return a dress i had purchased 09/01 at the sacramento location. per the return policy you have 14 days for a full refund. today is 09/15, i waited until 1:00pm (they opened later than usual due to short staffing, which is understandable).
I’m waiting around for an hour until
they open up, and as soon as I walk in after the gate was opened 2 of the employees were just standing back at the register with very unwelcoming looks. I ignore it, bring my dress, to the counter with the original tags, original hanger, original protective wrap, etc AND my receipt.
No “welcome in” “hi” “how are you” absolutely not a word from either of them. So I place my dress on the counter while I look for my receipt and explain that I was just trying to return the dress as I no longer needed it. Immediately without even taking the dress out of the bag or looking at my receipt I was told “You can’t return this” with attitude of course. I’m thinking to myself…the tag is on, I’m within the 14 day return window, and the dress is still completely wrapped up? I ask the reasoning since all I was told is “You can’t return this” and the response was “Special occasion dresses are final sale” in a snarky way…
1. what’s the reason for the attitude? 2. if you hate doing your job just quit! 3. your problem is not my problem ESPECIALLY when I came in talking to you respectfully & 4.Windsor sells nothing BUT “special occasion” dresses, I’ve never seen someone running to grab groceries in a Windsor dress because NONE of their dresses are casual???
I’ve shopped at Windsor for a while now, I’m aware of their “final sale” policies. I know that if it is final sale, they WILL tell you before paying and not ONCE was I told it was final sale. (because it wasn’t)
anywho, long story short I was given nothing but attitude, no refund STILL without her even glancing at the dress or receipt, and I just left the store before things escalated.
I immediately call customer service to seek guidance and was told since it was an in-store purchase I would have to handle it in-store. She recommended asking to speak with a manager but based off of the reviews I don’t think that would’ve gotten me anywhere at this location anyways.
I end up having to drive 40 minutes to the Concord location, where I kid you not, within .5 seconds of being at the register…that money was back on my card and fully refunded no issues, no attitude, had a friendly conversation and everything.
RIDICULOUS that I had to drive 40 minutes to and an hour and a half back from the Concord location just to get my refund simply because she didn’t want to do her job.
I understand having a bad day, dealing with stuff at home, etc. but it’s common work ethic to leave that outside of work and not take it out on the customer.
I can see why there’s staffing issues because I wouldn’t wanna work around that environment either!
I definitely would not recommend this location and will probably waste the extra gas to go back to either the Sunvalley or Arden Fair location as both locations had extremely helpful, welcoming, and sweet staffing.

I had a terrible experience at the Solano Town Center location. I politely asked an employee who appeared to be the manager for help retrieving a dress. She completely ignored me. After waiting and seeing that another employee was busy helping someone else, I tried to carefully reach the dress myself.
The manager then approached me with an aggressive, hostile attitude, scolded me for grabbing it, asked for my size, and handed me the dress very rudely. Looking at other reviews, it's clear this location has a ongoing pattern of ignoring customers and displaying terrible service.
The only positive was the cashier who checked me out, who was very kind and trying her best despite the manager's awful behavior. Corporate’s response was a generic 20% coupon, proving they don’t take store-level hostility seriously either. I will never shop here again and will make sure my family and friends avoid this location too. Save your time and shop somewhere that respects its customers.
