  Very strange experience at Nordstrom today. I was making a purchase of several hundred dollars and attempted to pay through the Nordstrom app. The cashier refused the payment because I did not have a physical ID with me. I explained that my ID was available in Apple Wallet, but was still told that only a physical ID would be accepted. Oddly enough, during the same conversation, the cashier suggested I apply for a Nordstrom credit card instead. I mentioned that I already had one, and she responded that it may have been closed because I had not used it recently. So apparently: * a digital ID is not trustworthy enough to verify an existing customer making a purchase, * but opening a new line of credit is somehow less concerning. When I asked to speak with a manager, the manager confirmed the “physical ID only” policy for purchases, but the cashier immediately stopped acknowledging what she had said earlier about the credit card application. I completely understand fraud prevention policies. What I do not understand is how aggressively pushing credit card sign-ups seems to override common sense and consistency. The whole interaction felt less like customer service and more like a credit card quota exercise.

  Everyone be careful this store !!!!!! Happened to me today . I got in there shopping like 40mins . Try different dress . After when I came out go upstairs looking shoes. The man followed me , I Felt Targeted, Followed, Unsafe . I had a very disturbing experience at the Nordstrom Rack in Daly City. During my visit, I was simply shopping like any normal customer — trying on clothes, selecting items, and browsing the store. However, a male employee began following me closely and persistently throughout the store without any explanation. At first, I tried to ignore it, assuming it might be routine. But it became clear that I was being specifically targeted. I eventually approached him to ask for help with a shoe size, and his tone was unusually aggressive. What made the situation worse was that he continued to follow me downstairs and stood behind the cashier during my checkout, staring at me in a very hostile and intimidating way. I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe, and I rushed to leave the store as quickly as possible. This experience raises serious concerns about how customers are treated. It felt like I was being watched and treated as a suspect without any reason. This also raises concerns about discriminatory profiling, as I was singled out and monitored without any apparent justification. I have already reported this incident to corporate. This is not acceptable behavior, and I hope the company takes this seriously. I will not be returning to this location.
