  Wow! A new store with the worst customer service. I wasn't greeted when I walked in and wasn't thanked when I left. A young man looked right at me and couldn't even say hi! Really? What the heck. I went straight to the clearance section and found 2 pair of shoes that interested me. One pair was my size but they were MENS shoes in the womans section. Then the other pair I would have purchased had a sticker that said 8. Those shoes were an 11 for woman. Wrong size, with the wrong sticker. In order to go fast you must go slow. Attn: Store Mgr. Your employees are not taking the time to double check shoes. I thought you all taught that. I decided to tell a woman named DEBBIE about the two boxes. All she could say was, "OK". Really... How about saying I'm sorry about that. Or what size were you looking for?. How rude. She went right back to her work phone. And didn't even thank me for letting her know. Horrible employee. She needs to do better. Who hired her. Buyer Beware. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

  We were greeted when we walked in, and cashier was friendly at checkout. My first trip to DSW was in San Francisco a few decades ago, and it was beyond impressive! Designer shoes like Jimmy Choo and other high end brands amongst more affordable, high quality real leather shoes, and numerous women's sizes including my size 5 1/2. I was so excited to have a DSW in Citrus Heights, but our visit last weekend was beyond disappointing. Barely any real leather shoes, and no designer brands. Another store same as Off Broadway fulled with cheaply made shoes and a miniscule amount of anything remotely quality or designer. Maybe this is how all stores are now, but it is really sad that DSW is basically a giant Payless.

  I went in a few weeks ago and there were two employees working. The young lady at the counter with curly black hair looked up saw me and didn't even say hi and a skinny young guy I saw 5 min later also didn't say hi. Neither smiled. There was only one or two people in the store. Not a great way to get business. I would not return. I felt unwelcome. Maybe it was because I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt? Whoever runs this place should hire staff that have actual customer service to work there.

  I visited DSW in Citrus Heights yesterday, and I was impressed with how clean, spacious, and well organized the store was. It seems to be a new location that opened in June 2026, so everything still feels fresh and new. They had a good selection of shoes for women, men, and children, and it was easy to look around without feeling crowded. The staff were also friendly and helpful. I had a good shopping experience and will definitely visit again.
