  I went in a few weeks ago and there were two employees working. The young lady at the counter with curly black hair looked up saw me and didn't even say hi and a skinny young guy I saw 5 min later also didn't say hi. Neither smiled. There was only one or two people in the store. Not a great way to get business. I would not return. I felt unwelcome. Maybe it was because I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt? Whoever runs this place should hire staff that have actual customer service to work there.

  I bought a pair of shoes, and two days later I discovered that the reinforcement in the toe area of ​​one of the shoes was damaged.

  I visited DSW in Citrus Heights yesterday, and I was impressed with how clean, spacious, and well organized the store was. It seems to be a new location that opened in June 2026, so everything still feels fresh and new. They had a good selection of shoes for women, men, and children, and it was easy to look around without feeling crowded. The staff were also friendly and helpful. I had a good shopping experience and will definitely visit again.

  I was welcomed as soon as I walked in. The store is very organized and they have a great selection of shoes, bags, belts, socks, etc. There is also a sit down couch and mirror area in the center of the store and its inviting.

  I stopped by the new DSW location today and was really disappointed. There were barely any customers in the store, yet several employees were standing around talking and not a single person acknowledged me when I walked in. I was shopping for professional work shoes and expected a much better selection. As a woman with wide feet, I found exactly one option—and it wasn’t something I would ever wear to work. I only received assistance after walking up to two employees who seemed more interested in their conversation than helping customers, and even then, they couldn’t find any additional professional shoes in a wide width. For a store this size, I honestly don’t understand how there could be so few options. I was so excited that DSW finally opened at Birdcage because I thought I wouldn’t have to drive to Roseville anymore. Unfortunately, the selection was lacking, the customer service was disappointing, and I’ll be making the drive to Roseville instead.
