- KMKatie McGee4 days ago1.0I absolutely hate writing negative reviews but what I experienced two nights ago in the jewelry section of this jcpennys needs to be addressed. Excited to find a necklace for my birthday as my husband and I were saving up! I stopped at the store mid-afternoon and spent 20 minutes looking around at jewelry and spotted 'the necklace'. Usually I have experienced being bombarded in jewelry sections so it was nice that I had I could look without being asked if I needed help.. after I snapped a picture of the necklace and its tag, I left. Came back a few hours later with my husband and 1 yr old. An associate named Linda who appeared to be in her late 50s-60s asked us if we needed something after about 10 min of waiting around. I told her I wanted the necklace and she asked if I wanted to see the price which I already happened to know. She scanned the necklace and the price had doubled from the tag and she explained they are currently changing prices and asked if I still wanted it at the now price. I stated I wanted it but at the price on the tag. She then, with reluctancy, called her manager and we waited. She proceeded to my toddler son who was staring at her as 1 yr olds do and said "oh you must not like me because I dont look like you and youre not used to people like me." I had to walk away. It makes me so so sad that our country is in such a sad state of affairs but the racism in this town ive lived in for years has gotten so bad we are moving. It breaks my heart to experience this once again at one of my once favorite places for jewelry. Jcpenneys associates in the past have been so incredibly helpful, hopefully Linda gets some therapy.
