I have been a loyal customer of this store since it opened and have been a BOSS member for many years. My daughter and I visit the mall about once a month, and we usually stop by this location together. She enjoys helping me decide what to purchase and has become my “little personal shopper.”
Unfortunately, our experience today was extremely disappointing.
At approximately 7:40 p.m., after we had been in the store for only a few minutes, an employee named Richard approached me. I had not tried on any clothing or removed any merchandise from the racks or display tables. Speaking to me in Farsi and using a rude and confrontational tone, he told me that the store would be closing soon and that we needed to leave shortly.
Although I found his tone unnecessarily disrespectful, I understood that the store was approaching closing time. However, he then continued by saying that they did not have time to move things around “20 times” because of me.
I was shocked by this comment and responded that I had not moved or removed anything from the racks or displays. Instead of explaining himself or apologizing, he looked at me as though I were trespassing and walked away without saying another word.
Even if I had looked through merchandise or removed items from a rack, which I had not, that would not justify treating a customer in such a disrespectful and humiliating manner. Browsing merchandise is a normal part of shopping, and no customer should be made to feel unwelcome or accused of creating unnecessary work simply for being inside the store during normal business hours.
As a longtime and loyal BOSS customer, I was deeply disappointed by this experience and by the way Richard represented the brand. What should have been an enjoyable visit with my daughter instead left both of us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.

The manager of the Topanga Mall store is a joke. He is incompetent, rude, and judgmental. To be honest he is not fit or qualified to be running a Boss store. I’ve seen better customer service provided at a Ross or TJ Max. Boss please send this store manager to training as he desperately needs it. He lets his small ego take over, and from the other comments you can see he is making a terrible impression on other Boss customers.
I purchased online 15 shirts @ $120 each + tax totaling roughly $1,500, and 1 shirt didn’t fit properly, so I tried to return it within 2 weeks of purchase. The manager was upset I didn’t have a bag, (online purchases get sent in plastic shipping bags), then upset the shirt was wrinkled, (again, shipped like that), then proceeds to say the shirt feels and smells washed. When I tried to dispute it asking for a second employees opinion, he refused saying he is the store manger, so it doesn’t matter what his employees say because he wants to refuse the return regardless. You can tell he is the type to reuse to admit when he is wrong.
He kept stating the tags can be removed, and he can tell they were and then put back on to be returned. Basically he is accusing me of trying to return a worn and washed shirt. I don’t need to wear cloths and return them, and if I bought 15 shirts, why would I do it with just one. Never would I expect this type of treatment after supporting the brand numerous times with large purchases to be hassled over 1 shirt on a return. The shirt smelled like it came from the factory and was sitting in plastic shipping bags like all new cloths do.
He then proceeded to say he won’t return it, but he will send it in to Boss, but he knows it will get rejected, so it’s not worth the time. I asked him how do you know and why are you offering to send it into Boss if you already supposedly know it will get rejected. Are you going to send a note suggesting to Boss to reject it based on your unqualified and biased opinion?
Boss, please remove this manager from your topanga store immediately. He has zero managerial skills. A job a is privilege not something guaranteed in life, so I hope this manager cleans his act up ASAP or is removed. I hope all brick and mortar retails stores shut down and go online fully online because of experiences like this with these entitled and lazy employees.
