I wanted to have a great experience here because she is such a friendly person and made us feel comfortable. Unfortunately, the actual work on the dress was very disappointing. We came in five different times, and at every appointment there were noticeable issues that we had to point out ourselves. These weren’t small details, the dress was too tight at one point, the slip was longer than the outer layer and visibly sticking out, the straps were too loose and falling down, the hem was uneven, etc. It was frustrating that these problems weren’t caught before we arrived or while I was wearing the dress in front of her.
Even at the final fitting, just a week before the wedding, there were still things that needed fixing, which added unnecessary stress so close to the big day. And when we went to pick up the dress it was dirty and we had to ask them to clean it!
The biggest issue was the bustle. It completely fell apart halfway through the reception. No one stepped on it and nothing unusual happened, it just didn’t hold. I had to leave my own reception to have someone sew it back together, which shouldn’t happen especially given the cost and the number of fittings (which we had to drive an hour each way for). She did give us a small partial refund for the bustle but she was not really apologetic for it happening in the first place.
Given the cost, I expected a much higher level of quality and attention to detail. I don't know if she was allowing her assistant/apprentice to work on my dress but I'm not sure why the quality was below what I had read about in other reviews. While she is a lovely person, the overall experience and outcome were disappointing.
