Michelle at Red Lion Antiques and Jewelry in Tempe was awesome. She took time to look things up, was straight with me when something wasn't valuable, and spotted the good pieces right away. Really appreciated her honesty and help. Thanks, Michelle!

The person who works here, she is a very sweet and kind lady. First time I came here she helped me out to find the perfect size bracelet for someone with a tiny wrist. That took a lot if time, she was VERY patient. Today, she probably helped me for like 3-4 hours picking out jewelry pieces. You might say her jewelry might be a little more on the expensive side by a tiny bit (compared to like antique/vintage malls), but with her you know what you are getting is legitimate and high quality. If you are comparing her prices to new jewelry places or boutiques, her jewelry is cheap as dirt in price and rich in quality. For some items (being sterling silver charms), well, those are outliers, she said they were going to be a bit pricy as if apologizing ahead of time, but then was like, yeah, this cute pendant is FIVE bucks. FIVE. I have no clue what scale we are using to call a decent quality sterling silver pendant priced of FIVE bucks as pricy since last I checked this was not the 1970s, but I am not complaining though, I got some great charms/pendants for my empty chains. I have read strange reviews about this place and about this kind lady. So, I have come up with a step by step instruction on how to have her help you when you shop.
1. Find an item you want a closer look at.
2. Ask her to show you it.
Thanks for reading my instructions, hope they help :3 .
If you ask her where an item is she might point you in the direction of the item if she is busy. If she is not busy she will walk you to the item area. Remember, she is like the only person working there most of the time. I also have not gone here a single time where she did not great me when I walked in or told me if I needed anything to just ask.
Also, for all those kind of concerned before going because of some concerning reviews (like I was) on a few websites, let me help.
1. She holds kindness for all, not just white people. I am a person of color and have seen other people from a variety of ethnic origins in her shop. She holds kindness in her heart for everyone who is kind and respectful.
2. She is patient and does not care if you come in and do not find anything you like and leave buying nothing. She has helped me for hours and said she didn't want me to make a purchase I did not like. I have left the store without buying things because I did not want anything and she did not care. However, she will be very happy if you do make a purchase :) .
3. She has a good personality. All you need to do to see it is treat her like a human being. I saw her appraise things for someone for free (do not use this knowledge to take advantage of her because that would be mean >:c ).
4. She does not treat you differently based on your age. No, she doesn't care, she will treat you with KINDNESS regardless of age.
I am sure most of you reading are good and kind people :D (YAY!)
But for the rest of you, if you treat workers like humans (because they are human) and with the dignity any good human deserves. People will want to be nice to you and help you out. You should not expect even the kindest of people to be nice to you if you are mean for no good reason (her politely turning down buying your items are not good reasons to get mad at her nor is her not having the items you want any better of a reason to be mean).
Also, cute jewelry I got here in attached photo (I bought more items but this is what I had on hand). All of them were reasonably priced about $200 total (after tax, not before) at the time I am making this review (prices may change based on the price of gold and silver as mentioned on her signs and website, she will also verbally tell you this and inform you of the price long before you pay). The most expensive item is the ring because the pearl is great quality and rare, so without the ring the items were about $100 (after tax). All of the metal is sterling silver. She has non antique items, but they usually fall under the vintage category or they are gold/silver/precious metal. She just specializes in antique items and has a huge amount of them.
Have a great day! :>

The lady working the store did not check in on us once while we were looking at items. In was looking for glass pieces. They do have beautiful items but i feel like they are prices a lot higher than most comparable antique shops in the area.

This is a lovely shop! Picked up my friend from the airport and this was our first stop. They were happy to show us many things out of the cases and had such a variety of jewelry and other antiques. Definitely worth a stop in to say hello!
