I had a really disappointing experience at this location yesterday. I haven’t been to Arrowhead in awhile because I live about 45 minutes away. American Eagle is usually one of my favorite stores to pop into, and I was excited because they recently remodeled their location. My boyfriend and I went in, found some really nice items, and when it came time to pay, we wanted to use Affirm because it was a better bang for our buck. However, once everything was rang up and we were trying to pay using tap, we were told that they’d been having a few issues throughout the day using tap but the system “picks and chooses when it wants to work” I didn’t really think it was a huge deal because it was a new location technically and they were going to have some tweaks to work out, but they told me they could hold my items for me and I could come back in a few hours to retry, which I did. I had asked an employee when I returned if other people were able to pay with tap in the timeframe that I was gone, and she had said that it was up and working, so I was optimistic. However, again when I got to the register, my tap to pay was refusing to work with my Affirm card and I even tried to use another card on my phone to see if it was maybe an issue with just the Affirm card itself. It didn’t appear to be, so I had asked if it was possible to place an order online for store pick up because I really wanted the items that my boyfriend and I picked out, which was over $300 worth of items. Conveniently, the employee told me that their online system was “down” and I wasn’t able to place an online order for store pickup, so we left empty handed. Moral of the story, I understand a new location is going to have it tweaks to work out, and in no way, shape or form am I blaming the employees for the inconvenience with the tap to pay, but I just felt that they could have been a little more helpful in trying to find a solution for me to purchase the items considering I was willing to spend over $300 on them.
