Made me feel like a life long friend rather than just another car with a court order. And when I had issues with the first company due to the many hidden fees they had. He was the only one who could talk sense into them so I could get the device removed and a Smart Start device to replace it. And finally after 900 days he made sure the removal process went smooth as well. He even walked me through the steps to get my money back from when my car broke down and I had to have it towed to his shop. I'm so thankful to have had him as my service provider. I would recommend John to anyone with a court order or any other reason to have to get a device. If I could give 100 stars I would. Thanks again for your help in getting my DL back.

I had to have mine replaced multiple times for technical issues. He will charge you late fees even if you give 24 hour notice, even though the company says they don’t. This is a complete lie. I tried having mine removed and he refused to do it because he said he didn’t have time. I had to drive down to Little Rock to have my interlock removed. I also personally watched him blow a customers interlock for them so they could leave...

What do I need to bring to my installation?
Bring a photo ID and proof of residence in the form of a document verifying your address. You may also be asked to bring any documents that pertain to your case, depending on the state in which you or your program are located. How do I know if Smart Start's devices are compliant with my program?
Smart Start is a NHTSA certified Ignition Interlock provider, so we’re able to meet all of the alcohol monitoring authority’s requirements to ensure that you’re compliant within your state or county.
How often does my Ignition Interlock Device need to be serviced?
You will be asked to bring your Ignition Interlock Device in for regularly scheduled services. Call our knowledgeable Customer Care Center to find out how often your IID will need to be serviced at (800) 831-3299.
What do I need for removal?
Requirements will differ by state, but generally your state authority must grant removal authorization before you can have your IID removed. You will then need to fill out the Device Removal Request form on our website and upload any official documentation that may be required to authorize the removal.
Do I need an Interlock Device on all of my vehicles?
Some states will require that you have an Ignition Interlock Device installed on all cars registered to you, but most states will just require that whichever vehicle you drive have an IID installed. Check with your state authority to see if you will need an IID installed on all of your cars.
Does the Interlock Device mess up or hurt my vehicle?

How do I use an Interlock Device?
Using a Smart Start Ignition Interlock is easy! When prompted, blow into the device for a few seconds until you hear a click that signals the test is complete.
How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.
What can breathalyzers detect?
Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
Can I unplug my Ignition Interlock?
Check with your state authority to see if you are allowed to unplug your Ignition Interlock before doing so.
Can someone else drive my car?
Yes, but whoever is driving the vehicle MUST take a breath test and pass before driving. Any failed test will still be your responsibility.
