  Assistant Manager Mocked Me – Very Disappointing Experience I had a deeply upsetting experience at the Belk at Bridge Street in Huntsville. The assistant manager, Mr. Williams, spoke to me in a condescending manner, rolled his eyes, and treated me as though I did not understand what I was explaining—even though I clearly explained my situation multiple times. As an African woman and immigrant in the United States, this was especially hurtful. I felt dismissed and disrespected despite calmly communicating accurate information. As I walked away, he began laughing out loud. When I asked if that was appropriate, he said yes and continued laughing while other customers joined in. This was humiliating. To be fair, the store manager, Bruce, handled the return professionally and sincerely apologized, which I truly appreciated. However, no customer should ever be treated this way—especially by someone in management.

  Came to return a dress I purchased online. I literally walked the whole store, both floors, until I finally came to an open register. The older lady didn't say a word to me the entire transaction and barely even looked at me. I don't know if she could even speak. I guess this is how it's going to be now-service/food/retail industries hiring whoever they can find off the street. Walmart is no different from Target which is no different from Belk which is no different from McDonalds which is no different from Applebees.

  If you're losing business in droves, it is no surprise. I literally had to try to return something on four attempts because employees would actively ignore me and tonight there were four of them all standing together, actively ignoring me while I stood receipt in hand hand, trying to return some dresses it was only after I walked away, intent on going to customer service to report that I was being actively ignored by four grown women employees and they called me back and decided to not ignore me anymore, but I will never go back there because nobody is friendly. Everyone has an attitude and it's impossible to get anybody to wait on you. they were tidying things up and talking amongst themselves as I stood there for about four or five minutes nobody acknowledged me nobody said I'll be right with you. Nobody said can I help you when I tell you they looked me in my face and then chose to ignore me that is exactly what happened and I hope you can see it on the video tapes. Where are they had to call me back because I had walked away intent on finding a manager. I wish that people could find jobs. They enjoyed doing instead of being resentful, hateful, and passive aggressive. I am so sorry that doing your job triggers you so much. Maybe customer service is not the line of work you should be in. I will never ever be back to Belk at the bridge Street, ever guaranteed! Absolutely disgraceful customer service I used to work for a Belk I am absolutely disgusted, completely utterly appalled at the apathy. It cost nothing to be a human and to be kind of one another absolutely nothing in fact, I'm pretty sure it expends more energy to be a passive aggressive harpy! Here is hoping they all have the night they deserve!!! They all seemed really miserable!!
