  Hello, I am reaching out regarding a recent family photo session and photo purchase totaling approximately $250, and I wanted to formally express my disappointment with the overall experience. The session took place on May 24, 2026 at approximately 12:15 PM at the JCPenney Portraits location in Alabaster, Alabama. This session was intended to be a special family experience for us, and unfortunately the experience left me feeling uncomfortable, rushed, and disappointed rather than excited about our photos. Throughout the session, the photographer came across as dismissive and argumentative whenever I attempted to ask questions, provide input, or request certain backdrops or ideas. Instead of feeling guided and welcomed, I often felt brushed aside and rushed through the process. The overall atmosphere lacked warmth, patience, and professionalism. The session felt very impersonal and transactional, and there was very little communication or helpful direction given throughout the shoot. I also left feeling confused regarding pricing and add-ons, as those details did not feel clearly communicated during the ordering process. What disappointed me most was that this experience did not feel customer-focused at all. Family photos are meaningful purchases and important memories, and for the amount spent, I truly expected a much more thoughtful, organized, and professional experience from beginning to end. While I understand no session is perfect, the combination of the rushed environment, poor interaction, lack of guidance, and unclear communication made this an upsetting experience overall. I would sincerely appreciate this matter being reviewed by management and would appreciate being contacted regarding an appropriate resolution. Thank you for your time and attention

  Employee Dorothy screamed at my fiancée for not being able to move quickly on her crutches and proceeded to verbally berate her and tried to hit her mother with a towel. Completely outrageous and they’re lucky we haven’t gotten law enforcement involved. This store has a real issue assaulting customers, it needs to be shut down.

  The cashier, Dorthy was extremely rude and immature. Making rude comments about my family and yelling at my daughters.

  I am currently injured and wearing a boat with crutches. During my visit, I was returning some two heels that I had bought that same week. Due to my injury I can no longer wear heels. I walked to the nearest register and Ms. Dorothy was calling me to go to her register, however it was the furthest away. I said I would stay at the register closest to me. She then proceeded to say across the store “ Well you’re going to waddle out through the exited, so just come to me”. Again, I’m injured and have limited mobility. I respond that I’m staying here because it hurts. She continues to scream across the store to me and my family, frightening my little sisters. The rest of the staff begins to laugh at our interaction. Not telling her to stop. She then threats us “ And if you record me and post it I will sue you, I’m friends with a judge”. I finally get my refund and as I’m walking out with my family the entire staff continues laughing. I ask to speak with a manger. She then continues to mumble insults towards my family and picks the phone. The manger comes and asks to speak to me outside. The manger does not handle the situation instead helps me to the car. My family and I were assaulted, harassed and humiliated by your employees. I am a loyal JCPenney customer and have always appreciated the quality of service I receive at your stores. However, this particular experience was disappointing and does not reflect the standards I have come to expect from JCPenney. I hope you will take this matter seriously and take appropriate action to address the employee's behavior.
