- NNNevaehJul 18, 20261.0I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Bass Pro Shops. I was looking to purchase a pair of waders and specifically asked for help finding the correct size. The employee assisting me told me that the youth size and women’s size were the same and assured me not to worry about the sizing. The box was labeled “6R,” and there was a sticker indicating “Youth Size 6 / Women’s Size 8.” Based on the employee’s advice, I trusted their recommendation and spent $119 on the waders. Unfortunately, when I arrived at my destination and attempted to put them on, they wouldn’t even go past my hips. For reference, I am only 5’2”, so this was not a case of being between sizes. The sizing was completely wrong, and the information I was given by the employee was inaccurate. It’s incredibly frustrating to spend over $100 on gear, travel to your destination, and then discover the product is unusable because of poor advice from store staff. I expected knowledgeable assistance, especially when purchasing specialized outdoor equipment. I am very disappointed with the customer service and the misinformation I received. Customers should be able to trust the guidance provided by employees without having their trip ruined because of incorrect sizing advice.
