I recently visited the store to purchase a discus, shot put, and some shoes, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
One of the biggest issues was the lack of accessibility. This is a very large store, and they do not offer wheelchairs for customers who have difficulty walking. My parents are older and cannot walk long distances, and most stores usually provide this option. When I asked a security staff member, I was told they don’t have any available, which made the visit much harder for us.
On top of that, it was difficult to find items. Several employees didn’t seem to know where things were and simply directed us to the general sports area. It took quite a while to locate what we needed, and even then, the items were poorly organized and not clearly labeled some were just in plain brown boxes near other equipment.
The only positive part of our visit was an employee in the kids’ section who was very helpful and took the time to suggest alternative options and ways to order what I needed.
Overall, I was disappointed with the lack of accessibility, organization, and staff knowledge. I hope the store can improve these areas in the future.

I called and spoke with Logan in the gun department yesterday and ensured that they had a gun in stock before I drove 2 hours to come and get it. He said that there were 2 in stock and I explained to him that I am on the way to buy it. Once I got there I spoke with 6 different people about the weapon and every single one was like " oh no were sold out of that one dude" the thing that struck me was that there were roughly 15 people running around this department and everyone seemed oblivious to what they were actually doing. Like don't get me wrong the people were nice I guess, but id rather deal with someone who knows what they are doing for an occupation. except for the older blonde lady behind the counter who literally blew me off when asking about the weapon and said they were sold out. He then turned her back to me and proceeded to looking at atf forms for weapons being bought. That's kinda when I became upset. I asked to speak with Logan. They claimed Logan was training 4 new guys, and that "we are telling you that weapon is sold out" so across the floor there was a huddle of guys with one long haired shorter guy who you could tell was training some other guys. I walked up to the group saw Logans name tag and I explained to him who I was and that I was disappointed that I drove 2 hours to get this weapon. He stopped me mid sentence and says we have one in stock right here. He walked over to a display cage and grabbed the weapon out of the cage. At this point I was infuriated even more because out of 15-20 people running around this department your telling me that Logan was the only one that knows what the hell he is doing. It literally looks like everyone else is going through the motions. There was another customer there with me trying to fill a form out on the computer and this older guy with a beard claimed oh I'm not trained for that one of these other guys are going to have to help you....then why are you the one behind the freaking counter. Like go sweep a floor. Anyways thanks Logan I hope you continue to work here because I spend thousands of dollars here a year and from here on out ill only work with you.

Gracias.

Scheels is hands down one of my favorite places to shop. No matter what I go in for, they always have exactly what I need and usually more options than I expected.
The selection is honestly impressive. Whether it’s clothing, shoes, sports gear, or outdoor equipment, everything is well stocked and easy to find. It saves me so much time not having to run to multiple stores.
The store itself is super clean and organized, which makes the whole experience even better. You don’t feel overwhelmed even though it’s a big store. Everything is laid out in a way that actually makes sense.
Customer service has always been great too. Employees are friendly, helpful, and actually seem knowledgeable about the products instead of just pointing you in a direction.
Overall, Scheels is one of those places you can rely on every time. If I need something, there’s a good chance they have it, and that consistency is hard to beat. Definitely a go-to store for me!
