The store is overpriced, the candy store has fake "Swedish candy," that I wasted my money on, and there is nothing especially good about this location. Shameless to lie about what type of candy you're selling when its $12.5 a lb.
It is cool they have lots of different things, but nothing in particular stood out to me.

If you value your personal privacy or expect a company to honor its own published policies with integrity, stay far away from Scheels. My recent experience was a masterclass in corporate dishonesty and intellectual bankruptcy.
The "Data Trap"
Scheels’ "Price Match" program is a bait-and-switch designed to harvest your personal information. Before a human agent will even look at your request, their "Virtual Assistant" forces you to create a MySCHEELS account, handing over your email, phone number, and shopping data. They demand your data upfront, only to trot out scripted lies to deny the match once they’ve successfully added you to their marketing lists.
The Blatant Lie (See Attached Screenshot)
Once they had my data, the deception began. An agent named "Chip" claimed the competitor I was matching was not an "authorized dealer." When I asked for proof, he sent a link to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) showing the competitor wasn't "BBB Accredited."
Let’s be clear: BBB accreditation is a voluntary, paid membership. It has zero legal or contractual bearing on whether a company is an authorized reseller. When I called out this logical fallacy, the agent doubled down, explicitly stating: "Right, which means we will not be matching the price." (I have attached the screenshot of this interaction so you can see the level of dishonesty for yourself). They are literally inventing fake industry standards to avoid honoring their own policy.
"Policy" vs. "Discretion"
When the BBB lie failed, the agent shifted the goalposts, stating, "We do have discretion for which sites we would be able to match." This is the smoking gun. Their "Price Match Policy" isn't a policy at all—it’s a marketing gimmick that they ignore whenever it suits their profit margins. A policy that relies on "agent discretion" and "made-up criteria" is worthless.
The Management Gaslighting
I demanded a manager, "Rumail," hoping for a shred of accountability. Instead, I got a lesson in corporate gaslighting. Rumail admitted the first agent was wrong but repeatedly dismissed the blatant lie as a "miscommunication," telling me he was sorry it "seemed that way."
It didn't "seem" like anything, Rumail. It was a written, willful attempt to deceive a customer. Instead of offering a goodwill gesture to fix the "miscommunication," he simply ushered me out the door. He knew they already had my data; my satisfaction was no longer a priority.
The Verdict
Scheels uses the promise of a price match to lure you into their database, then uses deceptive tactics to deny the match, and finally gaslights you when you catch them in a lie. They are intellectually dishonest and treat their customers like they are too stupid to understand the difference between a paid BBB badge and a manufacturer's authorization.
Do not give this company your data, and do not trust their "Price Match" promises. They have your information now; they don't need your business.
UPDATE: Since posting this, a "Customer Experience Leader" from Scheels reached out. However, the irony has reached a breaking point. I discovered that SCHEELS itself is NOT BBB accredited.
Think about that: They denied my price match because the competitor didn't pay for a BBB badge, claiming that "proves" they aren't authorized dealers. By that exact logic, Scheels is admitting they aren't an authorized dealer either.
This confirms that their "Price Match Policy" is a total fabrication. They use standards against competitors that they don't even meet themselves. It is a dishonest, hypocritical, and predatory way to run a business. They want your data, but they don't want to give you the deal they promised. Still 1 star. Still a scam.

Kind of disappointed in this store. I was told by several sales representatives they offer military discounts on items I was purchasing. Provided my Military ID and still for whatever reason the cashier did not honor the military discount. I’m not sure if they are just openly lying to me about them having a discount or if they just don’t want to honor it for me. I hope other military service members don’t have this issue. Hard to stand behind a store that says they offer military discounts and in reality don’t. I used to shop here as it was an employee owned and operated store that supported services members. Now it seems like it’s another money-grab corporate owned company.

UPDATE: Issue resolved by management
After posting my original review, store management reached out and took the time to address the situation. While the initial experience was extremely frustrating given the distance traveled and the cost of the purchase, I do appreciate the effort made to correct the issue and ensure a fair outcome.
The follow-up and professionalism shown afterward helped restore confidence that concerns are taken seriously and handled appropriately when something goes wrong.
We drove over 1.5 hours to make a $2000+ purchase of what was supposedly a brand new Onewheel. When we finally got home and opened the box we found that none of the packing material was on the device such as the cardboard covers that come standard with new device. In addition the box was substantially damaged. Then the worst part was the actual device had deep scratches down the to metal on the bottom of the device which we discovered as we were taking the photos to register the device to activate the warranty. And the best part was the serial number on the device didn't even match the serial number on the box. So someone at the store must have had a lot of fun playing with and damaging our device. Customer service provided no relief so we basically paid full price for an item that was either returned or the store staff played with.

I want to preface this by saying that I don’t believe this review represents Scheels as a whole or all of its employees — but I do feel it’s important to share our experience at this location.
A few months ago, we went into this Scheels to pick out a stroller and car seat travel system. We were greeted by a customer service representative in that department who was very heavily pushing the Cybex brand. After politely explaining that we were not interested — especially after she shared that her own family’s Cybex stroller broke within a few months of use — we told her we had already decided on the Uppababy Vista and Aria combination.
Her tone and attitude changed immediately.
She asked how far along I was because I “didn’t have a bump,” and when I told her we were due in May, she said that “so much will change before May” and that I “shouldn’t even be in the stroller section yet” because I wasn’t far enough along. She then went on to make comments about how “cheap” a stroller is compared to parenthood and how broke we would be once we became parents.
We never discussed pricing, budget, or cost concerns with her — and quite frankly, finances were not a concern for us. These comments made us extremely uncomfortable.
I share this not to get anyone in trouble, but to hopefully provide insight into why it’s important not to project personal opinions, assumptions, or frustrations onto customers.
We’ve gone through seven years of infertility and five pregnancy losses. After finally making it out of the first trimester, we were incredibly excited to start shopping for our miracle baby. Maybe it was “early” by some people’s standards, but picking out a stroller was a core memory for us — something we had dreamed about for years. The cost of a stroller and car seat was not a concern, especially after spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on infertility treatments like IUIs and multiple rounds of IVF.
While our infertility journey is not anyone else’s responsibility, empathy and professionalism are part of customer service. Customers are there to be assisted — not judged, discouraged, or made to feel uncomfortable for their choices or their timing.
After this experience, we went to a competitor and purchased our travel system, where we were met with nothing but kindness and support.
We’ve always loved Scheels and have spent many days there, purchasing high-ticket items and enjoying the store. It genuinely makes me sad that one interaction changed what should have been a special experience.
