Instead, it felt like the countdown had already hit zero. An employee made it very clear—loudly and repeatedly—that closing time was near, but the tone wasn’t helpful, it was impatient. Rather than a simple, polite reminder, it felt like we were being pushed out before we even had a chance to look around. Every announcement and interaction carried the same message: “hurry up and leave.” I understand stores have to close, but there’s a difference between doing your job and making customers feel unwelcome. That night, it didn’t feel like customer service—it felt like we were a problem.
